Jazz-o-Tech is a label that draws on the rich heritage of two of the most visionary and experimental genes in music: jazz and techno. Taking inspiration from the freeform creative nature of those two musical worlds, artists on the label mix tradition with modernity, improvisation with experimentation, and create a new sound known as techno-jazz. Modern music needs to be ambitious. It must aim to deliver a musical message which is one step beyond what has already been heard. This is Techno Jazz Radioshow - Radio Raheem Milan

Jazz-o-Tech welcomes back Berlin pair Flat Maze for a second EP on the label following their Dick Dunker EP in 2018. This time they combine scintillating jazz and electronic sounds on Gran Canaria, a five tracker which includes remixes from Arnaud Le Texier and Dinamite.

This pair is made up of Italian Stefano Mori on electronics and guitar, and Tel-Aviv born Uri Gincel on piano. The former is well known in Berlin having played live and DJed with various collectives, and the latter toured the world as an in demand piano player before immersing himself in electronic music and collaborating with the likes of Mathew Herbert. Together they find a perfect sweet spot between instrumental jazz solos and deep techno drums and always take you on an escapist trip.

The opening track emerged from the beach of Los Palomas in Gran Canaria, where the sun and the wind of the dunes inspired Stefano to create the rhythm and bass, while Uri added the melancholic, Latin jazz piano line. The result is a gorgeous track that washes over you like a warm breeze as dancing keys bring real dynamism. 'Petardo Boy' featuring Sebastian Studnitsky on trumpet is inspired by an eccentric and explosive character from Berlin. It started with a melancholic riff by Uri before Stefano developed an electronic composition as wild as the personality of Petardo Boy himself. The drifting trumpet up top is romantic and late night, the drums are deep and the mood intimate. Last of all, 'Golden Cat' features a scratchy electronic riff inspired by Uri's cat. It's a textured centre piece around which pulsing drums, snapping hits and haunting jazz keys all move freely.

Arnaud Le Texier steps up to remix 'Gran Canaria' and flip sit into a slick and quick techno workout with majestic melodies and tender chords, while Dinamite flips 'Petardo Boy' into a menacing, broken beat and glitchy techno weapon for darkened warehouses.

This EP once again perfectly embodies the mission of our unique label.

Mattia Prete has been at the heart of Techno Jazz a new musical movement where the freeform improvisation and instrumentation of jazz meets the futuristic and hypnotic mechanics of techno. Prete has been working in this niche as a DJ, live performer, and producer, but also as manager of Jazz-o-Tech, the innovative and well-known label based in Berlin and Milan that is home to many upcoming visionary talents.

Prete now lays out his unique vision of Techno Jazz on a first EP under his own name for Jazz-o-Tech itself. Three of the forward-thinking tracks are collaborations with musicians Prete admires and respects, and one is a remix from Reeko the Spanish techno producer.

After releasing Silent Rain EP as part of the Beat Movement duo, Prete now fully steps out with a bold representation of his take on the fascinating techno-jazz sound. It is cinematic and expansive, heady yet physical, and builds bridges between the famous Berlin sound and the exciting new developments happening in his native Italian scene.

'Moon, Please Don't Go Away' with composer and multi-instrumentalist Alberto Fiori pairs heavy, spacious bass hits with a rousing lead synth. It is epic, suggestive, and a real call to arms before the pummeling kick drums charge into cosmic battle. 'The Bright Side' with the great French trans-jazz band Bada-Bada slowly but surely gets you in a trance. The drums are powerful and liner, but the jazz sax up top is loose and liquid. It unfolds with increasing tension before the energy dissipates and you've left adrift in space next and the sax returns as a more friendly presence. Mattia then links with jazz pianist Uri Gincel and producer and guitar player Daniel Calvi for 'Burning Man,' which was previously a part of the This is Techno Jazz Vol. 1 compilation and is a deep, dark, and brooding track full of eerie suspense.

Daniel Calvi is also the collaborator on 'Stein'. It is a track dense with ideas - the train-track drums, the tortured keys, the waves of synth, then a stunning acoustic guitar solo that brings beauty and hope. Last of all, dark industrial techno maestro Reeko remixes 'Stein' into a thumping and cavernous groove with twisted synths that drag you into a dystopian future.

This is a landmark EP from an artist who is helping to take techno into innovative new realms.

The newest installment on the "Jazz-o-Tech" label is an EP by the band "Lyder". The band consists of three performing artists Delusional Circuits, Odizouu, and Polygonia. Lyder is a collaborative pseudonym under which they combine jazz and techno by fusing improvisation, live-looping, and sound effects into an immersive electroacoustic experience. Monument premieres the track "Sea Of Thought" from the "Vivacity" EP, which will be out on the 29th of July.

This double album is a deep dive into Jazz-o-Tech carefully nurtured sound. What unites the label and its broad array of artists is a desire to fuse the traditional improvisation of jazz with the avant-garde experimentalism of techno. Over the last couple of years, it has done that to critical acclaim with a series of innovative EPs and LPs from artists all over Europe that cooked up fresh new sounds that push the boundaries of electronic and acoustic music further than ever.

For each track, we put together jazz musicians and techno producers and asked them to freely express their vision of what techno-jazz should be. Our poly-centric musical identity speaks of many possible futures in a multitude of individual dimensions, unified by an ambitious artistic effort to write a new chapter in music. The result is an innovative musical language that aims to provide a new sonic vocabulary for jazz and avant-garde electronic. We really hope you like it as much as we do!"

Finnish duo Aki Himanen and Aleksi Kinnunen kick things off just as their new album A Thing with Feathers is about to drop. Their 'Valediction' is led by melancholic trumpets and hypnotic drums, while Reeko, Katharina Ernst and Leonie Freudenberger combine to create dark, heavily percussive rhythms and eerie synths on 'Snake Spirit.' Flat Maze pairs glitchy techno with edgy piano chords and Supercore keeps up the pressure with clattering drums overlaid with a snake charmer-like sax line. After Lyder's soothing and suspensory 'Sea of Thought' with its gorgeous wind sounds and soulful vocals, techno legend Sunil Sharp remixes his collaboration with experimental label regulars TUN into a frenzied mix of free-jazz motifs and industrial rhythms.

Stanislav Tolkachev comes together with Aki Himanen & Aleksi Kinnunen for more detuned, unhinged synth madness, Bodek Janke & Studnitzky reset the mood with a calm yet menacing fusion of ambient synths, prickly rhythms and fluttering wind sounds, then Fabrizio Rat remixes his work with Bada-Bada into a pounding techno groove with mysterious jazz melodies. A Dinamite remix brings textured broken beat techno to the fore, Morgen Wurde & Tis keep it deeply dark and atmospheric on their cut with Tetsuroh Konishi and Sliver Galaxy then races off into the cosmos on high energy and uplifting jazz-techno rhythm. Finally, Bada-Bada releases the tension with a celebratory sound before Key Clef and Luigi Ranghino's 'Piano Movimento 2' closes down in gorgeous neo-classical fashion.

This collection once again proves that jazz and techno belong together as it takes you on a rollercoaster ride through many fascinating fusions.

This is Techno Jazz Vol.2

Jazz-O-Tech will soon be five years old and will be a fully consolidated recording project, with a very attractive formula that has been moulded and developed into a style of its own. Mattia Prete is responsible for shaping this label, his idea of fusing two such disparate genres as techno and jazz has worked to the extent of not falling into mere interpretations, as it is not about two different paths united for the same purpose, as would be the case of creating a series of rhythmic structures that would later be used as a base for the musicians to simply add their musical improvisation, but rather it is about creating from a single entity, musician and producer jointly developing the track.

The second volume of This Is Techno Jazz demonstrates this perfect alliance between jazz and avant-garde electronic music, which on many occasions crosses the barrier between an intense, provocative and dance-oriented genre such as techno, with another type of interpretation that is more recreational and playful for the ear. In addition, the label's guidelines towards the artists is that it gives them total freedom to offer their particular point of view of this unification between the technological applications of electronic music and the singularity of the complexity and originality of improvisation.

This Is Techno Jazz volume 2 brings together a huge line-up of artists, among them illustrious names in international techno such as Reeko and Stanislav Tolkachev.

This promises to be a highly anticipated addition to the techno jazz music scene. Turin-based collective "TUN" brings its distinctive fusion of jazz and techno to this release, with the addition of remixes from three talented artists-Sunil Sharpe, Nørbak and Mattia Prete.
Each remix offers a unique interpretation of TUN's sound, with driving beats and hypnotic rhythms that are sure to get the dancefloor moving. Fans of techno and jazz will appreciate the creativity and artistry of this release, which showcases the best of both genres.

Jazz-O-Tech's new radio programme on Radio Raheem is called This is Techno Jazz and is a unique opportunity to get to know a new musical genre that combines techno and jazz. The programme is presented by Mattia Prete, label manager of the Berlin and Milan-based record label, and aims to introduce the public to this innovative music scene that is gaining ground in Europe and around the world.
> The programme will be broadcast every last Friday of the month, from eleven o'clock to midnight, and Mattia Prete will present the best tracks in the techno-jazz genre, with artists and producers from the international scene. The first star of the show will be the Swiss drummer Arthur Hnatek, followed by Wroclaw Zimpel and Raffaele Attanasio, three big names on the international music scene.

Nitromi Galien is a genuine music and visual artist, founder of the traveling project On The Mission. She was born and is currently living in Slovakia.
Her passion lies in the realm of hypnotic Techno, minimalist sci-fi soundscapes, deep ethereal ambient, and recently she has also been experimenting with Techno Jazz.
Nitromi embarked on her musical journey as a producer, releasing her first tracks independently.
A year later, she established herself as a digital storyteller with a unique sound and narrative driven sets.
In 2022, she introduced her future-oriented Techno project On The Mission, which aims to support the community and connect like-minded artists.

Jazz-O-Tech introduces Black Gardenia Vol.1 composed by Berlin-based duo BEAT MOVEMENT.

The duo presents an unusual, psychedelic and moving techno jazz EP in collaboration with techno pioneer Sunil Sharpe, Italian saxophonist and composer Gianni Mimmo and the jazz quartet Gamapawa.

Black Gardenia is a mesmerizing aesthetic sound experience, taking the listener on abstract journeys and into cinematic sceneries. The title track "Silent Rain" opens the A-side with a soft and emotional fusion of drones and saxophone, followed by the sovereign and psychedelic slow groove of the track "Aphex Twin shot my neck". The B-side is a dancefloor killer combination between Sunil Sharpe's intelligent techno remix of “Silent Rain” and Gamapawa's featuring track "Untitled Reconstruction", where drums and saxophone reach the speed of 150 bpm.

Black Gardenia will be distributed worldwide in 300 limited edition copies.

"Torino Unlimited Noise” (T.U.N), is an electronic jazz band founded in 2018 by Gianni Denitto (sax), Fabio Giachino (synth) and Mattia Barbieri (drums).
T.U.N. project, by mixing the experiences of all band members, wants to create a sound which is a blend of electronic music, refined harmonic progressions and improvisation, creating a very distinctive sound in order to reach a wide and mixed audience. 
The trio was founded in 2018 and is publishing its first EP manifesto with Jazz-o-Tech combining the three original tracks with two remixes from high-class techno scene artists: Vsk and Aleja Sanchez, that prepared an experimental and a dancefloor-oriented versions of Jason.

Torino Unlimited Noise is an homage to the city of Turin, to it's sounds, its industrial soul and its underground soul which pushes us all to a more human dimension and to a serch for a soulfoul beauty.

Milan and Berlin label Jazz-o-Tech continues on its mission to imbue the most cutting edge electronic music with the freeform creative spirit of jazz with a new EP from Healing Force Project. The Italian offers up two terrific originals while stndrd and T Kode remix.

Since 2010, Healing Force Project has established himself as someone who explores the outer edges of techno with his own atypical, anarchic and spontaneous creations. Coming on labels like Acido, Firecracker, Bedouin and in album format on amenthia recordings, his music always layers up free-jazz melodies and drums into intoxicating sonic landscapes unlike any other. Because of that, he is a perfect fit for this label where technology and improvisation, innovation and tradition all come together to make exciting new forms.

Exquisite opener 'Parallel Universe' is a spacious affair with tumbling drums, loose hits and splashes of cymbals run through with distant toms. Everything is off grid and live sounding, with uneven chords played over the top to make for something beautifully unusual and thoughtfully cosmic. As the winding rhythms unfold and the drums grow more propulsive, so does the element of mystery and intrigue.  

Stepping up to remix is T Kode, who is known for his complex and powerful sounds in the booth and the studio and has released on the likes of Blackwater. He layers in a rugged bassline that moves things forwards with real purpose, but the off kilter keys, staccato effects, chords and sci-fi sounds keep things thoroughly avant-garde and unusual.

The second original, 'Temporal Pole', again suspends you in an astral plane but is a little darker and more paranoid. Noodling keys drift in and out, cymbals are gently feathered, wooden hits add movement and the whole ting is in constant movement, changing shape and leading you further down the rabbit hole.

Subsist and 91 Records associate stndrd then remixes and delivers his trademark powerful emotions in a rumbling deep techno version that gets you in a state of hypnosis and keeps you there with eerie key motifs and dancing drums.

This is a perfect fusion of two very different worlds into one fascinating and unconventional new sound.

Avant-garde French trio Bada-Bada step up to Jazz-o-Tech with a standout new 8 track EP titled simply “II” that  nds fascinating new emotion where jazz and techno collide. It features six originals plus re-mixes by Fabrizio Rat and Distant Echoes.

Bada-Bada consider themselves a Trans-Jazz band who create with a freeform musical discourse that is heavily reliant on improvisation. They have a sound that is haunting and emotional, textural and di-verse, and that blurs the lines between the organic and the synthetic. Explosively mixing keys, synths, sax and trumpet with very modern studio techniques they channel different in influences from Steve Reich to Radiohead to David Bowie, both in the studio and at their impressive live gigs.

Opener ‚R4G3‘ is a blistering track with suspensory chords keeping you on edge while manic drum playing hurries along. Add in the squealing synths and brass and you have a brilliantly intense workout. ‚Venus‘ is a more laid back track with more loose drums, and again exquisite horns sounds and a dense mix of synths that are truly electrifying. ‚Bada-Bada‘ strikes a more thoughtful and reflective note, with lingering chords drifting off to the cosmos next to sombre sax, and ‚Maria João‘ continues the reflective vibe with a quiet and reflective piece of jazz sax with subtle piano accompaniments that builds to a big wall of intense sound,  fizzing synths and pounding drums. ‚Shiva‘ takes you on a freeform trip to spine tingling heights with textured synths and manic trumpets all speaking of real pain and loss and  finally, ‚TLLNN Part 2‘ washes over you with mellifluous drum grooves, idyllic chords and a real sunset vibe that is powered by a tight rhythm section.

Pianist and techno producer Fabrizio Rat fuses his classical piano with contemporary techno in fasci-nating new ways on labels like this one as well as 24H Records. His remix of ‚R8G3‘ is a powerful, stripped back techno jazz roller with forceful kicks and plenty of atmosphere in the wandering sax sounds up top.

Dystopian label associate and Out-er co-owner Distant Echoes appeared on this label‘s vital THIS IS TECHNO JAZZ. VOL 1 compilation and follows up with a superb remix here. It is awash with rueful chords and organic pianos and has a perfectly airy dub techno groove that  oats you through space.

This is another innovative EP released by Jazz-o-Tech that explores a perfect sweet spot between techno and jazz.

This EP is a collaboration between finnish artists Aki Himanen (trumpet, electronics) and Aleksi Kinnunen (drums) with remixes from PEG and Polygonia, and again fuses both jazz and techno sensibilities to come up with superbly forward looking and sleek new sounds.

Aki Himanen and Aleksi Kinnunen are jazz musicians and techno producers who combine jazz's spontaneity and electronic music's dark soundscapes. Using generative techniques and interacting machines, they have been working together since 2019 and released debut album Scapes earlier in 2020. Now they are back with more of their cinematic sound and dystopian landscapes on this fine new EP.

Opener 'Dawn Drops 'is a lush piece that sweeps you off your feet with suspensory synths and floating trumpet lines rising out into a one sky. Rubbery drums roll below to keep you tethered to a grover and the whole thing is a luxuriant and soothing piece. The beautifully dark 'Plastic Rain' builds on live drums and pulsing bass, with sombre trumpets bringing a forlorn mood as hits and rim shots are scattered through the air.

A club-ready remix of this one comes from Spanish techno artist PEG, an associate of the Dynamic Reflection label who fuses techno, ambient, dark beats and techno old and new into his music. He flips the track into a much more driving and deep techno tune that is designed to get you into a state of hypnosis as it races late into the night on spooky synths and powerful kicks.

Last of all, Munich based artist and musician Lindsey Wang aka Polygonia steps up. She is a master of rhythm and composition and brings this to a haunting and serene techno track laced with ambient mysticism and subtle pads that melt your mind.

This is another high class coming together from the worlds of jazz and techno to form something utterly new and exciting.
