Jazz-O-Tech introduces Black Gardenia Vol.1 composed by Berlin-based duo BEAT MOVEMENT.

The duo presents an unusual, psychedelic and moving techno jazz EP in collaboration with techno pioneer Sunil Sharpe, Italian saxophonist and composer Gianni Mimmo and the jazz quartet Gamapawa.

Black Gardenia is a mesmerizing aesthetic sound experience, taking the listener on abstract journeys and into cinematic sceneries. The title track "Silent Rain" opens the A-side with a soft and emotional fusion of drones and saxophone, followed by the sovereign and psychedelic slow groove of the track "Aphex Twin shot my neck". The B-side is a dancefloor killer combination between Sunil Sharpe's intelligent techno remix of “Silent Rain” and Gamapawa's featuring track "Untitled Reconstruction", where drums and saxophone reach the speed of 150 bpm.

Black Gardenia will be distributed worldwide in 300 limited edition copies.

The classically trained pianist and techno producer has existed in both the classical and electronic worlds since his teenage years. The result has been a unique evolution of the two sounds and an amalgamation into something fresh and groundbreaking. “Juno” comes off the new EP, Hera, out soon on Milan’s 24H imprint. The release finds 6 tracks of razor sharp techno with a romantic current and underlying mania. “Juno” perfectly captures the essence of the artist’s productions and the EP is an incredibly journey through genres, moods and ideas.

Accustomed to tribal and hypnotic rhythms, the Moroccan sorcerer Prophän is now venturing into new territories with "Blood, Fear & Injustice".

In this creation, noisy kicks, distorded vocals, wavy synths and doom basses pave the way to form an eclectic but coherent ensemble.

Produced in an environment which oppresses minorities who do not conform to the established standards, « Blood, Fear & Injustice » is as much a work of art as a militant act. Hence the different titles which all refers to the control of the people by the political and religious ruling class.

To conclude this EP, we thought that there was no better way than bringing the greek sound activist ANFS to the bill! The head of Vanila Records offers us his own vision of Prophän’s « Silent And Under The Boot » and we can say that the result is a real show of force, with its rhythm that continues to grow heavier all along and its palpable tension.
