Tagliabue releases his debut mini-album Ambiente Sonoro on Elephant Gait Music with six contemporary tracks deeply inspired by the reality that surrounds us.

Imagination has no limits, when stimulated by sounds that slowly shade and snake in the listener’s conscious.

Library music is a genre that introduced an extensive use of electronic sounds and high techniques in music making, these experimental and psychedelic compositions enriched Italian radio, film and television soundtracks during the 70s. Artists like Daniela Casa, Egisto Macchi and Piero Umiliani provided scores for documentaries, educational projects and other sound installations; they influenced and helped the Milan based artist to produce his debut mini-album “Ambiente Sonoro”. His experience as a music selector and his previous productions anticipate the character of this new contemporary work. A record that cannot be placed in a specific genre. Ancestral rhythms, post-industrial waves, apocalyptic chants and modular drones, suggest a mental projection into a new planetary system consisting of six bodies with different landscapes, kept in orbit by a cosmic sound perturbation. A dreamy state of emotional, protracted and reflective abandonment.

Tagliabue is a sound engineer, selector and music producer based in Milan. His meticulous musical research reflects an eclectic style characterized by an Italian attitude which is the expression of the love for his land and its traditions. Tracing a music-temporal path that comes from folk sounds mixed with contemporary electronic, he takes inspiration from the environment that surrounds him and breaks down the boundaries between the genres blending its musical influences and reinterpreting its origins with a propensity towards the future.

The night is winding down, the climax has been reached. Smoke fills the spaces in-between dancing bodies as the energy wanes and the slow comedown begins. Often resisted, it’s a challenging time for many but not today as French producer Aiôn Lazura and his forthcoming ‘Biotope’ album strikes at the heart of the matter. As his music provides a soft landing for many a fragile soul through rhythmic downtempo and soothing melodies.

Synthetic Climax, the final track of the album is our premiere for today. Establishing a wonderful mood through melancholic pads, layered percussion lines and textures flitting in and out of focus. Aiôn gives space while providing a path forward that gently guides you to the rest that’s deserved.

Synthetic Climax and the rest of the Biotope release will be out on November 15th.

Celestial Trax returns with new work of tonal-textural explorations.
On 'Lifecodes' the producer born Joni Judén weaves together a dense quilt of sound, shimmering and surging as it unfolds in free-time. Judén invites the listener down a luminous, harmonically adventurous path, where sound takes creaturely dimensions. The songs blossom and wilt, at times floating in states of ambivalence, at others washing over the listener like waves, bathing them in heavy light.

'Lifecodes' was created in the small village of Pynnölä, Joutsa in central Finland, where Celestial Trax has been living and working since 2020.

In September, I’ll be performing several ambient shows and have already started preparing for them. This piece, which I’ve titled Rise, reminds me of that moment just before sunrise. The textures were created using a glockenspiel and the Soma Cosmos. For these shows, I want to bring more acoustic elements into my sets, and I’m currently putting together a kind of “sound toolkit” made of different sonic objects.
