Growing up in the small town of Port Aux Basques, Newfoundland, Harry Strickland taught himself how to play guitar at age twelve. This was the beginning of a life-long passion for song writing and performing as he was inspired to write songs while surrounded by the beauty and cultural uniqueness of Newfoundland. He soon found success as a traditional folk singer and guitarist, playing in the lively heart of St. John’s. He has continually kept his passion for songwriting alive, winning 2nd place in a CBC songwriting contest and placing in the top 500 in Billboard’s song contest. He is currently interested in using his eclectic and creative background to compose orchestral music for music libraries.

tides is the project of multi-instrumentalist  and photographer, Samuel Death.
