This one started off nearly a year ago, when the Eclectic Collective was just coagulating, and is the first one to feature Tez, Ken, JJ, and Josh on a song. JJ came up with it, drawing from his deep well of creativity, on the electric piano and bass, and shared it with the rest of the us. Starting with Ken, who added a phenomenal drum track to work with. Josh then added his guitar in a way that tried to emulate Miles Davis, albeit just an impression. Then we asked Tez to mix it for us, which he did ably as ever, and we released it early last spring. 
  However, Tez, being the always tinkering producer that he is, decided to dust it off and give it a new bass line to match the ferocity of Ken's drums. He then remixed it and added some production effects, making the song it was meant to be. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed making it.

This song was written for piano by Hitoshi Yasui, chairhouse of Tokyo, who was generous in allowing me to arrange and record it for guitar. It is from his "Piano Ten Thousand Leaves" project. His mission “is to create gentle, calm, peaceful, beautiful, relaxing piano music and share it with all human beings." He writes, records and posts one beautiful piano composition each day. This song, "ayant servi pour plusieurs parfums", is number 1371 from september 16, 2017. His original piano version can be heard here:

Based on collaborative song writing in the early 80s and a few studio projects over the years. We are reunited to create new projects after taken a longer break.

Update:
In the summer of 2022, my dear old friend Mick and longtime musical companion died of cancer.

I have agreed with him that I will continue to run our site in his spirit. Our amazing, unique music will live on forever.
