Die Brücke - Rock Flexible

We all have favorites, right? This is mine from the collection of songs written for my dad, and this one honors his birth year. It is a minor blues similar to a jam we used to have all the time. Features his vintage Guild Foxey Lady fuzz on the rhythm guitar tracks. Clever ears will pick up the nod to his favorite band, the Beatles.

Memories of my adolescence it was one of the favorite songs of my parents, now sadly deceased, I have come to share this video, a personal cover of one of Georges AURIC's songs taken from the film "Moulin Rouge" (Moulin Des Amours) that I have suitable for guitar. Elmi Aldepo - Morning

Although the word argent means silver, this song was inspired by Rod Argent's Moog solo in the song Clown on his 1975 album Circus, his most progressive and balanced album, in my opinion. I wanted to try something with a similar progression to that song and wondered what it would be like to have his solo become the melody of the song, just as an exercise. I did take it elsewhere, but enjoyed the process of taking something and making a completely different vibe out of it.

Whisper of the Keys

I created a draft of the arrangements for Outer Realm at the Banff Centre in 2018. It's taken me quite a while to learn the skills to produce the song and music in a way that I'm happy with. Thanks to my fellow musicians from the residency for their support and inspiration and the Canada Council for the Arts for their support.

When I'm Gone

This is another composition I worked on at the Banff Centre. Thank you to my voice coach, Dan, who helped me discover a new way of singing, as I had always performed all my songs in exactly the same style. I like to say he brought out my real voice. Recent strong studio production values also made a big difference. Originally, this piece was a folk song when I performed it live, but I always envisioned it as a more classical work. I’m delighted with my new arrangement. Thank you to my Banff Centre mentors and music mates—sorry it took me so long to accomplish this.
