As the collaborative production alias of Elizabeth Wight and Mike Simonetti, the pair brings a very particular breed of electronic music to the playing field that touches base on ambient, techno, acid, drone and shoegaze. It's a perfectly co-arranged marriage between the power of spoken words, a strong vocal reach and impeccable production work, which results in a musical output that is highly danceable, endlessly refreshing and doesn’t lack its fair share of creativity, next to finding its way onto labels like Correspondant, Me Me Me, 2MR and Crosstown Rebels.

"This mix is an introduction to my musical universe, sat somewhere between the 4th world, outer space and the remotest parts of the rainforest.

I don’t often put mixes together and this is my first for over 2 years. 

I was very happy to include songs from legendary musicians who’ve inspired me - Steve Reich, John Hassell, Tony Allen, Jeff Mills, Larry heard, Michael Jackson, Four Tet, Ritchie Hawtin, Ricardo Villalobos, Alice Coltrane - and present their music in a way you’ve maybe not heard before. I am also happy to present some of my recent hero producers that feature regularly on my Radio Highlife WWFM show - Golden Teacher, DJ Sotofett, Bambounou, Harmonious Thelonious, LAPS, Duckett, Raoul K, Tomaga, Al Dobson Jr in particular. Finally, I had fun delving into my 20 years of collecting vinyl records to find some songs you might not have heard before, or have not heard for a while. 

This mix is meant to give you space to detach yourself, to give you peace, to heal - much needed in today’s climate!

Serviert wird nur das Beste und Saftigste aus Soul, Disco und Funk; direkt auf den Plattenteller. 
Paul zelebriert die Zeit in der Beats noch mit der Hand gemacht wurden und Bandleader noch Trompete spielten statt „Play“-Button zu drücken. 
Doch statt Rückwärtsgewandtheit hat Paul auch immer das Ohr auf dem Sound der Zeit; verliert sich nie in totaler Retromanie! 
Das was wirklich zählt ist das, was nach einem Set von Funkmaster Doris bleibt: 
Cold Sweat! 

Instead of plastic and processors Paul "Funkmaster Doris" Jansen puts needles on vinyl. Only the best and juiciest of soul, disco and funk is served; directly on the turntable. Paul celebrates the time when beats were still made by hand and bandleaders played the trumpet instead of pressing the "play" button. But instead of being backwards, Paul always has his ear to the sound of the times; never gets lost in total retro-mania!
