Saturday, March 2, 2013, at San Francisco's indomitable EndUp: for the fourth edition of the monthly PLAY party series, Listed Productions brought together four acts that upon first glance may have raised eyebrows, but in the end, made perfect sense.  Masters of their crafts with range as wide as their experiences, each artist played off of one another brilliantly to weave together a night as memorable for its cogency as its sonic diversity.  @Naveen-G opened the floor, building track upon perfect track, patiently whetting the crowd's appetite before Trouw resident @Patrice-Baumel took all on a journey as heady as it was flat-out dance-able.  But before @Three launched into an epic 4+ hour set through the sunrise, @JenoVoid anchored the entire night as only he could, with this, a 2 hour masterpiece that is at once psychedelic, sophisticated and relentless as it carries listeners through ebbs and flows, a brand of hypnotizing acid house that's made him a San Francisco legend.

Last Friday I had the most important & nicest gig in my dj career, playing @ Trouw. All the cliches about this fantastic venue are absolutely true. Lovely & caring crew, awesome audience & amazing sound system make this spot the best venue in the Netherlands & one of the best in the world. 

So it was an absolute honor to play at Trouw. Lucky for me, my set was recorded. I played an two hour set right before Metro Area in De Verdieping. I hope you enjoy the listening as much as I did playing there.

This man needs no introduction as he’s been purveying all sorts of weirdness to the electronic crowd for the last four years to critical acclaim. Never one to be pigeonholed, Axel has this knack for creating such weird and hypnotic atmospherics in his music such is reflected in the eclectic nature of his own imprint Studio Barnhus. When it comes to being a DJ, Axel knows how to get inside your head and mess around!

I travelled to Hush in Osaka first then made it up to Tokyo for a Sleeping Bag party at the famous Womb club in Shibuya. Here you have a live recording of my session from the night. Oct 2014.

Towards the end of 2014, London based DJ, presenter and radio host Moxie, saw her efforts and skills as one of the city's finest selectors culminate in a wonderfully curated eight track compilation titled Moxie Presents Vol. 1. Mirroring the varied nature of her radio shows on NTS and Radio 1 that have made her such an in demand DJ by a mix of audiences, the compilation saw artists such as Ikonika, Kowton and SCNTST all contributing. Picking up off the success of the first instalment, work on a second soon followed with bigger aims in sight. Released last month, Vol. 2 follows a similar outlook to the first one - shining light on both new and established talent that have regularly featured on her shows the last couple of years. The interesting aspect of the second compilation however is the recently announced label and club night starting off the back of it. Titled On Loop, the night gets set to hit the road from March 19th onwards with cities such as Manchester, Glasgow and Paris being some of the few destinations.

We'd have happily received a mix from Moxie at any point in the last five years but with two compilations out now and the start of a new venture into club night and label territory we feel we've caught her at the height of her game and her Truancy Volume only cements this further. From Basic Channel inspired productions by Scott Grooves to forthcoming house anthems from Body Jack's Body Trax Vol 3 release, Truancy Volume 138 acts as informative stepping stone for what should be another fantastic year for Moxie. We briefly caught up with her to talk about the Moxie Presents Vol 2, Loop Out and what she likes to do if ever burned out from music.
