Appreciating each others` work for quite some time, Raik Städler aka Riklós and Sunny Somtan aka Sense of Sun quite recently made the step from merely knowing each other only to actually joining their musical talents by jamming and performing together.

Naturally, it did not take long until they both realized that they share the same musical notion, and their new joint project “Deep Acid“ was born.

While always being busy creating new productions and pursueing their creative ideas, they are still having an open mind for exterior influences and sources of inspiration. Still, at the time of speaking, it is not yet in sight which stylistic paths the two will eventually take.

But what’s definitely here to stay is the true magic of an unforgettable moment.

For this years spring´s edition of the Lab Experience podcast series Audio Werner (Hartchef, Perlon) took a deep dive into his record shelves and created a special seasonal blend of Vinyl only. This is definitely not a dedicated club mix rather than an audible illustration of springtime slowly taking over from cold and dark winter. Starting with atmospheric ambient sounds, warm rhodes & loose soundscapes the journey continues to more rhythmical environments as springtime progresses. If you expect the usual Audio Werner you know from his DJ sets or productions get ready for a completely new experience – it´s all broken beats and you won´t find any 4 to the floor bassdrum here at all. Happy springtime !

Oddly this is the first jazz mix I have ever compiled. More of a curated playlist than a mix, though I did some editing for levels and to make all the gaps between songs just the right length. It's mostly more recent favorite discoveries of mine with a lot of the classics I remember my Dad playing regularly while growing up, and a couple more obscure items that I've come across, like Charlie Mingus playing solo piano to open the mix. Most of this jazz is from the same era, more or less. There were some older and some more contemporary pieces I wanted to include but I found they threw the sound and the vibe off somewhat, since the quality of recordings varies so greatly. There is also a lot more weird and more experimental jazz I adore that I did not include in favor of keeping this more relaxed and smooth. It was so much fun to compile, for almost 2 weeks straight I listened to pretty much exclusively jazz, and assembled around 5 hours of music which I then reduced to this shorter ride. Enjoy

One of the best aspects of music is its ability to connect people from all corners of the globe. Our next guest comes from Australia, a place which isn't always known for its music but indeed has a thriving underground scene thanks to the hard work of locals. Magda Bytnerowicz is one of these special few who have helped build up the musical landscape around her both as a promoter and as a DJ. Her inspired and dream-like sets have been known to sweep the audience away to a place of pure ecstatic joy. It is exactly this keen ear for atmosphere and deep understanding of musical sequence that has made her a perfect pick for UNRUSH. So relinquish yourself in these impressions of the southern hemisphere with this impeccable mix.

A few words from Magda about the story of her mix:

My young son is an early riser and he went through a phase of waking just before 5am for a few months. It's such a strange time of the morning - somehow 4:45am feels very different to 5:15am if you have a whole day ahead of you. It's still dark, and too early for breakfast and coffee and getting ready for the day, but somehow, we're awake and have to fill the time. This mix is the sort of music I would play in that eerie hour and a bit while we waited for the sun to come up and the day to begin - not really truly 'ambient' as it needed to be a little more active, and feel as though time is moving forward. Also, a little bit of an Australian digi dub focus came out of it too, old and new.
