As always Kling Klong gives space for new artists and supports upcoming talents. This time Martin Eyerer & Rainer Weichhold had no doubts signing this debut release from Stuttgart's dj/producer Ninetoes as 'Finder' is obviously a massive stand-out track which has the words 'summer hit' written all over it. So it was just easy to convince Leon and Re-UP from Italy to do the remixes and help to make this release even more oustanding.

For Dirt Crew they went deeper and darker to their usual sound and delivered 3 great originals spanning from the Deep „techno-ish“ House groover „What You Do“ with it’s haunting vocals to the funky leftfield broken beat jam that is „Inside“. Also this tune features a great vocal and spaced out organ sounds, a lot different from the more straight forward dancefloor burner that is the last track „Unfinished Things“.

To complete this dope release we have one of our main House Masters on the remix job.
Till von Sein turned „Inside“ into a driving techno-house slammer that will surely burn the floors with it’s repetative acid-line feel and bouncing kick drum. A real Bomb!

Fresh from supporting Claude VonStroke on the massive 25 date North American Urban Animal Tour, J.Phlip, has finally stolen a moment to complete her latest and much anticipated release.  Her last appearance on dirtybird called "Coefficient," found the girl from Illinois flexing her European techno muscles and adding the likes of Surgeon & Dave Clarke to her rapidly swelling fanbase. Her incredible DJ skills on the road have been catching everyone's attention and she is currently prepping to go back on the road with VonStroke for the Europe leg of his tour.

Says VonSroke - One of my best friends from Detroit went out to catch Jessica (J. Phlip) at a warehouse afterparty this year and he summed it up best.  "Man... Jessica plays darker than you, more gritty and real and I'm into it."  This pretty much describes Jessica's much needed niche in the original dirtybird crew.   

This release shows off that gritty side of J.Phlip. "Say My Name" is a bold techno influenced acid dipped hybrid track that works up to its dark climax and then drops it like a bag of hammers. 
The remix on the flip (done in tandem with San Francisco's young Aidan Chambers) is an even more cinematic acid trip and a welcome addition to the original.

2013 was another exceptional year for Will Saul’s ever-consistent, no-nonsense Aus Music imprint. As well as records from the increasingly familiar family fold - Dusky, Bicep, Midland, Sei A, Leon Vynehall - a new batch of producers stepped in as the label welcomed debuts from both Huxley and Glimpse, along with the return of fellow West Country resident, Komon (Kieren Lomax).

It’s that strong Somerset connection that continues to play a role in Aus' output, as the first release of 2014 sees the Bristolian pairing of Appleblim (Laurie Osborne) and Komon join forces once again on the ‘Jupiter EP.’

Appleblim, along with partner Sam Shackleton, together made up Skull Disco, the mid-2000 label-cum-collaborative project that was rightly regarded as one of the most adventurous and aesthetically complete enterprises to come out of the formative years of dubstep. Since Skull Disco's demise in 2008, Osborne has been running his current label, Apple Pips, which continues to curate a robust release schedule that lays its roots in the joining of dots between the deep, sub-focused textures of early dubstep and the classic house and techno sounds of Detroit and Berlin.

Venturing out earlier in 2013 together on “Gas Jam/Silencio,” both Komon and Appleblim struck up a productive working relationship that saw them detailing an altogether more House-influenced direction, rich in texture and full of clarity. This influence and shape-shift in direction was also clearly audible on Komon's solo Aus release of last year, 'Walk the Walk,' which laid down something of a new blueprint for his future productions.

With this new EP, the pair steer left-of-centre, by way of bumping house, coloured with a low-swung boogie, rinsed in '80s New Wave nostalgia, and underpinned by the brooding swagger of thundering sub bass.
