Thank you pops for.......

Buying me, as a combined 13th birthday and Christmas present,
a drum kit. Little did we know, the magical musical world that it would open up. A wonderful place that still excites and feeds my creative needs to this very day. Gives me reason and a purpose and never lets me down.
Gifting me, for my 15th birthday, my first guitar, because I wanted to write songs.
Letting me bang around on the expensive piano that stood in the hallway of our family home, because I needed to write "Piano" songs.
Taking my band of school mates all over London for gigs. Being our driver, chief roadie and head of security.
Always being interested in everything that I do, especially my music, right until your last breath.
And most important, for making, then shaping me to be the man that I am today.

The background for the inspiration of course is Homer and the tales on the Trojan war. But Kassandra does not tell a story – it’s a kind of a painting with an ancient scenery or maybe just a sketch: Kassandra in front of the burning city. And it could be a modern painting. We are in a distance of more than 3.000 years to the plot of the ancient tales – and still mankind has Kassandras and tears in front of burning cities.

Working on Kassandra i had in mind from the beginning that Cindy will take the main voc in this song. So i wrote the harmonies and the song structure with that in mind and i love how she sings the song. Kassandra also includes a few notes played with a Greek Baglamas and helps the song to get a special note. This string instrument is the small sister of a Bouzouki.

I wrote and played the piano for this piece a while back, but I always wanted real acoustic violin as accompaniment. More than happy to take the back seat to Tatiana's magnificent violin as she brilliantly takes over. With just a little classical percussion this is now a bonafide classical piece with maybe a little rock production & mastering wrapping it all up.

This is the second song posted from the album Bitzone, Stricknice, Wou-Wou & the Wormling, and I have been working on together with a number of other friends on SoundCloud. The first song shared was the late 80s indie American underground inspired song, Ghosting Out, that include Bonetender joining with his transistor organ and guitar. The Show / The Shrike Pt. 3 is one of the 4 songs on the album inspired by Wou-Wou & the Wormling’s graphic novel, the Shrike, which inspired this project. 

Massive thanks to Carlos Vivanco and Belial Pelegrim for joining us on this track. This is the 2nd song Belial has joined me on and the first song I have had the privilege of working with Carlos on. It is amazing to have them both on the same track together. I feel so lucky to get to work with all my favorite musicians.

This is my first release of 2021 and its a song about missing things we used to be able to do in life.
I have a longing to see live performance again and miss the clubs and venues and of course travel.
We are in danger of entering a cultural apocalypse devoid of live music venues and festivals and tours if this pandemic lasts a long time we must somehow adapt as theres no time to lie down and fade 
away otherwise the music and good times will fade away as just a memory
