I grew up out in the swamps of SW Michigan on Whiskey Run Rd.  Best time of my life, everything any kid would need within walking distance. Woods to hunt and cut wood, river to salmon fish and swim, a pond with falls to swim, 30 miles to the nearest town and 2 miles to the general store. Needless to say when we got in trouble as kids it didn't involve any of the crimes you see in cities. It was hard to stay out past curfew when you didn't have one.
