In the summer of 1987, two Los Angeles DJs — Matt Dike and Michael Ross — converted a tiny L.A. apartment into a recording studio and started a record label called Delicious Vinyl. Championing artists from the streets and delivering music to dance floors and living rooms worldwide, the upstart label quickly made hip hop history.

Tone-Loc's "Wild Thing" and "Funky Cold Medina" were the first of three multi-platinum singles produced by Dike & Ross. Dike & Ross then launched Young MC to instant acclaim with indelible hits "Bust A Move" & "Principal's Office" from 1989's Stone Cold Rhymin' LP. Meanwhile Tone Loc's Loc'ed After Dark crashed in at #1 on the Billboard album chart.

After Matt Dike's departure in 1992, Delicious Vinyl became the sole mission for co-founder Michael Ross. Following the beats down the road less traveled, his astute signings of The Brand New Heavies, The Pharcyde, Born Jamericans, Masta Ace, and The Whoridas kept DV ruling the funhouse through the '90s.

In 2005, ten years after the release of the Pharcyde's groundbreaking Labcabincalifornia, Fatlip's solo album The Loneliest Punk sprouted the hit single "What's Up Fatlip" with its clowntastic Spike Jonze-directed video. Going from hip hop highs to soul surprises, Ross soon reunited The Brand New Heavies with original lead singer N'Dea Davenport for the 2006 album Get Used To It, its smash Stevie Wonder cover "I Don't Know Why (I Love You)" sporting a special remix by disco pioneer Tom Moulton. Delicious Vinyl also issued some of the era's best dancehall reggae, including the sizzling hit albums Pull Up (2004) and Hot It Up (2007)by Mr. Vegas.

Delicious Vinyl celebrated it 20th Anniversary in 2008. The RMXXOLOGY project starred the likes of Peaches, Aaron LaCrate & Debonair Samir, Diplo, Hot Chip, and Bobby Evans, all re-imagining the Delicious catalog for a new millennium dancefloor. The arrival of Yancey Boys, the debut album by Illa J (with beats by his brother, the late great Jay Dee aka J Dilla), kept brows razed until Illa J's Detroit homey Frank Nitt hit L.A. and dropped the love bumpin' 2009 summer single "L-O-V-E".

From its expressionistic funky music to its classic wash'n'wear logo t-shirt, Delicious Vinyl stands out for its streetwise savvy, staunch independence, and for shaping the soulsonic sound-scape of today. Ya heard!!!

Billy Davis and his band the Good Lords are a musical juggernaut which features up to 11 members when playing live. Their style mirrors luminaries like Kaytranada and the Internet, with the band sharing the stage with the likes of Anderson Paak and Blackalicious, before appearing at this year's Golden Plains Festival to exceptional reviews. Just announced, they will be making the trip up to Brisbane soon after the album release to appear at this year's BIGSOUND Music Conference, which has unearthed stars like Flume, Courtney Barnett and RÜFÜS.

A sought-after session musician in his own right (also appearing as part of Kimbra's live band), Billy Davis has spent the last couple of years immersing himself into the fruitful local neo-soul & hip-hop scene. Quickly assembling the Billy Davis project, the group's first album Bad Ending was released independently last year to a burst of local fanfare. Now, the band are readying themselves to step into the spotlight with a second album quickly appearing on the horizon.

JEFFERS takes listeners on a unique ride with seductive yet eerie, driving and grooving sounds. He delves into multiple genres, crafting versatile sets from Dark Disco, Tribal/Organic House, Melodic, Minimal and Psychedelic Techno. His sets are unpredictable keeping the dancefloor on their toes!

His now been playing major festivals around Australia including Elements, Esoteric, New Dawn and Wild Horses Festival. Showing his versatility as a Dj closing out the Elemental stage at Elements festival with organic/psychedelic mid tempo set while also playing a peak time psychedelic techno set warming up for Electrypnose at Wild Horses Festival, showing his bpm range for has no boundaries. 

With a bunch of his own productions in the works, and some more milestone gigs on the horizon, including some interstate and international gigs. Excited to see what’s next for JEFFERS
