Welcome to the 1th chapter of the Ambient Sessions presented by Deep Electronics. This is the very first podcast to explore the realms of Ambient music. The first producer is Cryobiosis! Enjoy a journey into the spherical sounds and field recording dwelling in textures. Sometimes dark but always with a touch of brightness. Sit back and enjoy!!

Bio:

  Cryobiosis is an ambient project from Cluj, Romania created by Cristian Voicu. The project attempts to paint with sound the environment and feelings that surround a man who awakens in a harsh and frigid post-apocalyptic world. Industrial ruins spread before his eyes while strange voices and distant signals echo through the dark mist. As he begins to discover the remnants of the old world, past memories of atrocities and terrible wars unfold inside his shattered memory.The music generally consists of haunting pads blended with field recordings, piano melodies and subtle rhythms. A lot of care has been put in the details and quality of the tracks.

   The first Cryobiosis album, “From the Depths” has been released in August 2012. In the fall of 2012, Cryobiosis became a part of the Cryo Chamber label and contributed a song, “Departure” to the label’s first compilation, “Behind The Canvas Of Time”. The second Cryobiosis album, titled “Within Ruins” was released in 2013 on Cryo Chamber and was well received by critics and listeners. "Inner Stasis" was released in July 2014 on Cryo Chamber, continuing and completing the bleak story from the previous albums.

VIT, a producer hailing from Kharkiv, Ukraine, makes his debut on the ever-growing Mood Series with Spotting, the 138th release in the series. The opener, 'Spotting', has an active bassline that commands attention. It grooves effortlessly with crisp production, while the breezy, aquatic melodic elements conjure an island-like feel. The use of tribal percussion adds a primal edge while the chords here float like woodwind instruments, delivering a sense of calm and beauty that lingers throughout. 'Indistinctive' follows with a more taught and precise beat, setting the track's pulse with a rolling bassline. The busy chord work plays a crucial role in building the track’s energy, providing the main hook that balances out the intensity. The intricate interplay between the bass and chord progressions keeps the track moving, with a subtle tension that drives the track forward. 'Reflections' takes a darker turn, with deeper tones and a serious mood. The aggressive bite of the chords contrasts beautifully with the rolling bass, providing a sense of tension and release. The percussion work stands out in this track, supporting the evolving dynamic with a solid groove that unfolds in the latter half. Lastly, 'Diffusion' brings VIT’s creative chord work to the forefront. With a serious tone, it maintains a sense of controlled chaos, providing a fitting end to this engaging debut. Each track reflects VIT’s ability to balance melodic beauty with technical precision, making Spotting another fine addition to the Mood Series.

To Future Generations: They Knew. They All Knew What Was Happening In Gaza

We give a warm welcome to Sydney-based artist Trinity, taking center stage in our 323rd episode.

Trinity is a Sydney-based DJ, producer, and performer with over 20 years of experience in the music industry. Trinity has earned the respect and love of fans, dancers and peers from Sydney to Berlin — and many destinations in between. Her abundant and diverse talents, her famous work ethic, and her uncompromising musical vision have made her a force to be reckoned with in the world of techno.
Trinity was billed alongside Richie Hawtin at the Vivid Sydney festival at Sydney Opera House; headlined Sydney’s world-famous Mardi Gras celebration; and has played at Tresor, Tomorrowland and many other clubs and festivals across Europe. Other stops on her musical travels have included New Zealand, India and Amsterdam’s famed Red Light Radio.
Each of Trinity’s live shows is marked by her unique versatility: from deep dub-techno, acid and electro to peaktime techno — all combining for a distinct and moving soundscape. Trinity is also one-half of boundary-breaking live act Phax Machine (along with partner Analogue Resistance), with the duo focusing especially on tougher breakbeat and classic rave sounds. 
Trinity’s recorded output includes collaborations with Luke Hess, Eric Cloutier, Headless Horseman and XDB, with her releases making their way into some of the best record shops in the world including Berlin’s Hard Wax. Trinity also runs A&R for Australian techno label Nightime Drama.
