Written in June 2021, this song reflects back to relationship transitions and the vulnerability these periods bring. Features Fender Stratocaster, Takamine acoustic guitar, Fender Jazz bass, Baldwin Grand Piano, Yamaha MOTIF, and drum samples. All instruments played by Ben.

Staring at the Crossroads (Original by Ben Buttrick)

This track opens softly, with a slowly rising tension that builds into an aggressive percussive rhythm. The storm eventually subsides, making way for a flood of reverb to drown the stage.

Recorded with a Moog Subharmonicon and DFAM. This was my first real attempt at writing the progression of the session prior to recording. This has been a struggle for me with the modular synthesizers, since you have to take a lot of notes to make sure you don't lose your initial patch!
