2021 is coming to a close and 40+ heart-centered, beautiful souls came together on our rooftop terrace to celebrate. 

It was a magical night of dancing, deep conversations, bonding, and witnessing the NYE spectacle that Medellin offers of non-stop fireworks all around us. We went till the sun rose... smiles on our faces, hearts full, we welcomed the first day in a state of blissful gratitude.

Here's a taste of my 2022 musical offering that was delivered from just past midnight to 2:30am. 

I hope you feel the intention of this mix which was joyful, lifting, and spiritual. We all need much more of that in these uncertain, crazy times to give us the strength to step into our true, divine, selves.  ❤️🔥🙏🏽

Vom türkis schimmernden Glitzerwasser bis zur tief blauen dunklen Meeresschlucht, wir lassen uns gemeinsam treiben und genießen dabei unseren Schirmchendrink. Wir haben dem jungen, charmanten und aufstrebendem Berliner Produzenten dazu noch 3 Fragen gestellt:

-> Zu welcher Tageszeit und wo machst du am liebsten Musik?

Ich produziere voll gerne morgens direkt nach dem Frühstück, mit frischem Kopf und ausgeruht. Durch Arbeit und Uni kann ich das aber leider nur am Wochenende so machen. Ich hab ein kleines Heimstudio in meinem Schlafzimmer, wo ich mich am wohlsten fühle (auch wenn man es kaum Studio nennen kann, haha).

-> Wo ist dein Lieblingsort in Berlin?

Definitiv mein Dach. Ich habe kurz nach meinem Einzug das Haus erkundet und bemerkt, dass man dort hoch kann. Seitdem bin ich mehrmals die Woche oben und es ist ein ganz besonderer und magischer Ort für mich geworden. Ich habe hier mittlerweile schon viele Sonnenauf- und -untergänge und schöne Momente mit Freunden erlebt und fühle dafür sehr viel Dankbarkeit.

-> Worauf freust du dich dieses Jahr am allermeisten?

Da gibt es einige Dinge, aber ganz weit oben auf der Liste steht auf jeden Fall die Fusion. Ich war 2019 das erste Mal dort und war vollkommen geflasht. Habe für 2020 wieder ein Ticket bekommen, doch dann kam leider zwei mal das C-Wort dazwischen. Dafür ist die Vorfreude nun nach drei Jahren Warten aber umso größer.

Munich based DJ and producer nicolas has been spinning records with a deep passion for smooth grooves for over a decade. Always focused on quality sound, he has developed into an audiophile listener, collector and presenter. His deeply personal and unique collection allows him to take in the vibe and connect with the crowd in his own way. Constantly developing his approach to music, he manages to always stay true to himself and his unique taste - a combination of timeless music and contemporary minimal pieces. nicolas’ debut EP moscot, released on WHATNOWBECOMES, is the first release under his new alias. Previously known as nihko, he held residencies at Club Autonomica and Rote Sonne in Munich. During this period, labels such as Visionquest, Suruba, RFR and many more, gave him a fitting platform to release his driving sound.

Bäm. Here we go again. After a tremendous VaK Vollversammlung at glamorous Kaufleuten/Zurich, we moved over to a more cosy place called Bagatelle. There I played the very end from 11 in the morning to 3 in the afternoon. And if the bar peeps hadn't had the whole new year-shizzle 4d nonstop-workload intus, we'd have partied even further. After the sintflut, indeed.

23 years ago the KLF announced they were leaving the music business. They deleted their back catalogue and burned £1m on a remote island in Scotland. This mixumentary tells their story; a strange and often chaotic tale traversing hip hop, gospel, trance, techno, ambient, house and pop amongst other things. It is my tribute to the band that produced the first single I ever bought, a tribute to a band that, despite becoming the largest selling singles act in the world, remain largely forgotten.

I always found it challenging to record a studio podcast: my analytical mind is trying to calculate every move, evaluate each transition & criticize the selection. I have time, music & equipment at my disposal, but one key element is missing to really tell a story: humans.

I encountered that problem last weekend. Although I was playing music I enjoy, I felt that my technically structured mix was too stiff and impersonal. 

____

Then, some of my favourite humans turned up at the studio. As Ashley, Apolline, Axel & Robin entered the room, the studio was suddenly filled with a great energy & I felt like pressing the rec button again, just for fun - this is when the first minutes of  S y m b i o s e  were captured. 
____

I feel this studio mix is an authentic representation of the energy levels I like to navigate through during a longer set. It features some of my favourite tracks in a nod to the past but also has a touch of the future; new sounds that are moving me forward & some of my new compositions. 
____

I’m happy to share this mix as I’m taking off for Argentina, what marks my first adventure of the decade. This music session brought me clarity, presence & joy! I hope you'll resonate with it.
