Assalm (born Jonas Koukaz) belongs to a new generation of artists who transcend genres to bring a much needed breath of fresh air to the current Electronic music scene. Influenced by Darkwave, Electronica, Techno and even Trap, Assalm's music is beautifully crafted to evoke a wide spectrum of emotions ranging from melancholy to cheerfulness. Deep, dark and playful at the same time, his debut album "Rivera" aims at creating a sonic experience through which the listener’s imagination is challenged to construct and visualise a world, already preconceived in Assalm’s mind, much like a soundtrack or a book does.

Assalm’s debut LP “Rivera” (out late 2016) receives a complete transformation with “Rivera Remixed”. And as is often the case when remixing an album of such unique character and wide spectrum of influences that range from Techno to Trap and from Electronica to Darksynth/Darkwave can be a very challenging task. Thankfully, Mr. Kristopher, Andreas Rund, Elevn, Z6B3R, Perhopes, Into The Pale Abyss and Aqua Vitae not only answered the call when invited to participate on “Rivera Remixed” but also proved to be the ideal candidates for it, each for their own reasons. The seven artists not only accepted the challenge of remixing Assalm’s originals with all their characteristic atmosphere and deep, dark cinematic weirdness but they completely transformed them into seven explosive Electro remixes while at the same time maintaining some those elements that made the originals stand out.

Spanish trio Knightbots debuted on JST a few months back with their single 'The Hound', a very well received Indie Dance track which combined Synthwave/Retrowave aesthetics with a hard edged French Electro sound. Now, 'The Hound' returns once more with a remixes EP and French artists M.A.D.E.S, Volkor X, Perhopes and Alminia have been tasked with adding their own twist to the original. From M.A.D.E.S' atmospheric Synthwave to Volkor X's heavier Darksynth and from Perhopes' dirty Electro to Alminia's groovy Indie Dance remixes, 'The Hound Remixed' covers all spectrums of the Indie Dnace/Nu Disco sound, with the four artists delivering an EP that is all bite and no bark.
