Cas(s)iopeia is a song from Jherek Bischoff's forthcoming album Cistern, out July 15th on The Leaf Label. 
Cistern is an album inspired by time Bischoff spent improvising in an empty, two-million-gallon, underground water tank, with a 45-second reverb decay. The unique acoustics of the space forced Bischoff to slow down and adapt his compositional approach - something which, unexpectedly, brought him back to his childhood, and the slow-pace of life he experienced growing up on a sailboat.

His early studies took him to Paris, and under the tutelage of Nadia Boulanger he embraced the mathematics of Bach and Mozart. If your new to the classical genre this is an excellent place to start. Sit back grab a book, a glass of wine and a couch, and let the tinkling of digits on ivory wash over you.

Jherek Bischoff   1982- Jherek Bischoff is an American composer who transcribes his music from his banjo and bass to the orchestra... well I'm sure it's a lot more complicated than that. I'm led to believe that he bicycles over to his musician friends with a microphone and a computer. Sounds good.
