An emblematic artist of the Palestinian underground scene, SAMA’ is one of the first DJs and electronic music producers to emerge from the region. Her sound, an original punchy kind of techno, is dry and musical all at once and has quickly made its way across Europe and beyond.
 
SAMA, meaning ‘sky’ in Arabic, started mixing in 2006 in parties around Ramallah, Palestine. Several years later she started producing her own music and expanding her interest in synthesis in 2010, with a focus on techno, house, and other deeper sub-genres of electronic music.
 
The artist graduated from the United Kingdom with a BSc in Audio Engineering and Music Production, then moved to Cairo where she worked as a sound designer for film, became a music producer and then instructor. SAMA’ now runs her own Audio Engineering & Sound Design company working across films and documentaries in the Middle East. In 2017, she was selected as a Laureate by the French Institute, and during that time attended a residency at the International City of Arts in Paris. SAMA’ also runs a publishing company called Awyav, representing independent artists from the Arab world.
 
In late 2018, SAMA’s Boiler Room performance and the associated documentary about the scene in Palestine went viral and more and more people are seeing that music has no boundaries. SAMA’ was recently listed in SheSaid.So’s Alternative Power 100 List, and plays a high-profile set at Ibiza’s World Heritage Site of Dalt Vila for the International Music Summit in late May. She is currently working on a studio album.

مشروع من إنتاج مؤسسة القوس للتعددية الجنسية والجندرية، يوظّف الموسيقى لطرح قضايا التعددية الجنسية والجندريّة وتعميق النقاش حولها كجزء من الأدواة المختلفة التي تستخدمها القوس للتغيير المجتمعي في هذه المواضيع
انطلق "غنّي عن التعريف" عام 2013، بإصدار الألبوم الأوّل الذي يحوي مجموعة أغاني متنوّعة تحاكي مواضيع التعدديّة الجنسيّة والجندريّة، والجنسانيّة بشكلٍ عام. لاقت الأغاني منذ إذٍ حتّى الآن صدىً كبيرًا والكثير من الرّواج، حيث سمعها عشرات الآلاف من الفئات المختلفة وعلى منصّات متنوّعة. اشترك في العمل كل من جوان صفدي، هيا زعاترة، جمع تكسير، رلى عازار وريمون حداد، ميساء ضو، وفرقة أبو رابوص. 
عاد المشروع عام 2018 من خلال العمل على أغاني منفردة، شهدت ثلاثة منهنّ النور بالعمل مع كل من يسر حامد، وبشّار مراد، وفرقة ضربة شمس؛ حيث ارتكزت ارتكزت الأغاني الثلاث على التجارب الشخصيّة للفنانات/ين.
يعود المشروع هذا العام 2019-2020 في حلة جديدة توظف الموسيقى الشعبية لفتح نقاش مجتمعي حول قضايا التعددية الجنسية والجندرية.  ظهرت فكرة العمل على أغاني تراثيّة خلال العمل على نسخة غنّي عن التعريف الثانية في عام 2018 ومن خلال وصلة كتبها أحد نشطاء القوس. رأينا في الفكرة فرصة ممتازة لاستكشاف الإمكانات التعبيريّة والفنيّة لهذه الأغنيات فيما يتعلّق بنا ككويريّين/ات فلسطينيين/ات، وقررنا العمل عليها بشكل خاصّ من خلال غنّي عن التعريف في هذا العام.

Producer and singer Yusor Hamed is cherishing a new sound from within Palestine’s thriving music scene. Her musical arrangements fuse Northern African rhythms with Swedish electronica, sweetly accompanying the sound of Arabic tonalities and lyrics.

اسطوانات" مجموعة غنائية مكونة من خمسة أصوات نسائية، وهي فرقة غناء "أكابيلا" - أي تغني بغير رفقة الآلات الموسيقية. تعمل الفرقة على توزيع أغان عربية وغير عربية من مختلف الألوان الموسيقية بالإضافة إلى أغان خاصة بها، وتمتاز آلية توزيع الأغاني بكونها عفوية وجماعية يتخللها أسلوب الإرتجال أحياناً بحيث تكون كل أغنية وليدة تجربة إبداعية مشتركة وفريدة معتمدة على لانهائية احتمالات الصوت البشري.

Istiwanat is an acapella group of five women voices. Their repertoire includes arrangements of Arabic and non-Arabic songs of different genres including originals. The arrangements are created collaboratively through a continuous organic process and the songs are often a creative exploration of the human voice. The singers are Zaina Amr, Maha Sansur, Mariam Hijjawi, and Maya Khaldi
