In August 1877, Asaph Hall of the U.S. Naval Observatory conducted a systematic search and discovered two satellites, or moons, of Mars within a few nights of each other. Hall named the moons Phobos and Deimos, after the two sons of Mars who were his chariot attendants and constant companions. However, this was not the first time that the existence of these moons had been theorized. Almost three centuries earlier, in the early 17th century, astronomer Johannes Kepler had also proposed the idea of two moons orbiting Mars. This was due to a secret coded letter received from his colleague Galileo Galilei. Both Galileo and Kepler were influential figures in the field of astronomy, and their contributions are still celebrated today. 

When Galileo sent his coded letter, Kepler was eager to solve it and feel validated in his theories about Mars. The letter was written in Latin and contained a word puzzle for Kepler to decipher. Despite his best efforts, Kepler's interpretation of the code was not entirely accurate. He rearranged the letters to read 'be greeted, double-knob, children of Mars,' and believed this confirmed his theory. However, the actual solution to the puzzle was a playful joke from Galileo, not a scientific revelation.

The Children of Mars

Artist Sunyata and Chris O’Shea have played together as a Guitar Duet based in Cairns, Tropical North Qld Australia since 2019. 
Perhaps easier to class their approach to music as Modern Jazz Instrumentalists for simplicity sake, with the obvious love of impromptu guitar improvisation and experimentation.

The duo have equal interest in preconcieved and elaborate contemporary and traditional styles and approaches toward composition. 

With extra instrumentation, piano, percussion and ensemble works are scored out in entirety by Sunyata. Then the overlayed of improvisation, if needed, with any final studio production completed by Chris. Many works  are ‘one off’ live shots recorded on the spot on our weekly morning music day, and then presented here, as they were ‘made’ on the day! 

Sunyata’s attitude is that he and Chris are two Artists working together, and invention and freedom is their credos!

Thank you so much for being here and taking the time to listen to my music.

My first steps in electronic music were with the Atari 260 ST (manually upgraded to 1 MB memory), a Yamaha PSR460 keyboard and Cubeat 1.0 (later renamed to Cubase 1.0). So I've always been focused on Cubase, so to speak.

That was a long time ago. In the meantime I set up my little studio and recorded a few songs for myself. However, I didn't dare to publish them because they might not be good enough for the world. 

But at the beginning of 2023 I risked to publish the first songs. I hope you like my music, even if everything is very amateurish.

Now 5 months have passed and I would like to describe my impressions so far. 

This is the best community I have ever experienced. You guys are so great, motivating, inspiring, creative and constructive. This week I welcomed my 500th follower and you gave me the opportunity to reply to over 1000 comments. I never would have expected that.

I started composing in year 1991, with a Commodore Amiga computer. I released my works under the alias of Stun during that period, while being moderately active in the italian Amiga demoscene.
With time my setup evolved with more powerful computers and musical instruments. I also learned to play the electric guitar and the piano, and studied music theory.
On my SoundCloud profile you can find tracks from my early Amiga days, until my latest tracks, in a variety of genres.

I'm a baritone sax player & composer in a contemporary jazz genre from Cologne, Germany (and play clarinet and flute, and the other saxes as well). All woodwind parts on these tracks are played by me (multitrack rec.), all other instruments by virtousi virtuali (with three or four exceptions). All arrangements and by far most compositions are by me.
I very much appreciate every kind of collaboration.

Smoothjazz, jazzballads, saxophone, trumpet, sometimes guitar, also some latin, all rather old school, occasionally experimental...
