The Jimi Heinrich Orchestra is a music collective that has been improvising together since 1999. Most musicians also have other projects from time to time and on a regular basis.

Naturaly people come and go, but the hard core has been together even longer (about 20 years) - and so our improvisations tend to blend fluidly.

For Jimi, this improvisational side of the music has a deep spiritual aspect to it - and so, every session also is a kind of collective aural meditation.

I've Been playing, composing, writing, arranging, recording, mixing, mastering, engineering, producing music of all genres..Playing electric guitar, Slide, Dobro, Nylon Guitar, Bass, Accordion, Flute, Keyboards, Piano, Organ, Synthesizer, Vibraphone, Harmonica, Drums & Percussion since I was 10 years old, self taught.. many different styles and genres to choose from. Originally from Chicago, where I developed a strong appreciation for the blues and classical, and moved to New York, where jazz and the fine arts are so deep.  Key musical influences include Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, Jimi Hendrix, Joe Zawinul and Weather Report, Chick Corea and Return to Forever, John McLaughlin and the Mahivishnu Orchestra, Stanley Clarke, Scott Henderson and Tribal Tech, Jeff Beck and Jan Hammer, Mike Stern, John Scofield, Pat Metheny, Emily Remler, McCoy Tyner, Bill Evans, John Coltrane, Jimmy Smith, Joey DeFrancesco, Larry Young, Buddy Guy, Santana and Earth Wind & Fire.
