Just as dub pioneers like King Tubby and Lee "Scratch" Perry sculpted spacious soundscapes with tape delays and reverbs, dub techno artists manipulate electronic echoes and reverberations to create immersive sonic journeys. The rhythmic pulse and hypnotic basslines of dub techno pay tribute to the foundational rhythms of reggae and dub while embracing the futurism of electronic music. Through intricate layering and manipulation of sound, dub techno artists continue to bridge the temporal and cultural gap, ensuring that the soulful vibrations of Jamaica's dub legacy resonate across generations and genres.

Armin has been into techno for over 30 years. Started DJing in the 90s. He is still DJing, mainly with Vinyl. Since the early 2000s, he's been active in and around Erlangen / Nuremberg (Germany) as a member of the local non-profit Electronic Party Collective called "STRONG SIGNALS". So far, he has released the OHM series, spclnch, and Piranha Siberia Dub on Greyscale.

Schallwurm/Homezone is a show on Radio Corax with a musical direction on Techno – Minimal – Electro – House – Trance – EBM – Industrial – Independent – Dance etc. 
It is broadcasting every second Saturday from 09:00  to 10:00 p.m. and fourth Saturday of the month from 10:00 p.m. to midnight. 
95.9 MHz VHF between Halle and Magdeburg and worldwide in the Internet live stream (good transmission via radio.de app/ radiocorax)

RadioCorax is a free non-commercial radio station in Halle (Saale) and has been available since July 1st 2000. The program is created by around 300 people in their free time or during their internship.

Free radios act with an emancipatory claim in the sense of social equality and individual freedom. Its goal is to give everyone access to broadcasting in this sense. Free radios are actively working to reduce discrimination and counteract this with the model of non-competitive, solidarity-based association.

Francesco Tamborrano is a DJ and a producer who I recognised recently via the nice ECOUL SND label from Nicolas Barnes (Riga, Latvia). So I was very pleased, when he offered  to do a guest mix for MLD! 👍🙏

He is a Venice based producer who focuses dub techno sounds with bass lines borrowed from techno and deep house to build a “melting Electronic”: sometimes hypnotic, sometimes raw, sometimes groovy. His first EP ‘Soft’ released earlier this year on ECOUL SND label ,he’s now working on follow up releases and some of the present and future tracks are played in this mix.

This is what he is personally saying about it:
"A mix podcast in my view is a personal challenge to achieve just one goal: mixing different tracks like a new and endless one. For this I tried to add hybrid sounds from different machines beyond the decks. Hoping you enjoy my flowing music trip."

French artist Angel Lebailly has been pursuing her love for all sounds deep, atmospheric and dubby over the last years.

After her first dub techno vinyl release “Sous l’eau” in 2023, Angel collaborated with German artists Deemkeyne and David Heine and made an appearance on an Anniversary VA by [PIRANHA SIBERIA DUB].

2024 shows upcoming collaborations with some exciting dub artists (The Open Circle, Dott. Santafeo, GUZZ) and an imminent new EP is scheduled on Nae:tek longstanding Superordinate Dub Waves in May 2024.

Recent gigs feature Tresor in Berlin with Echocord in February 2024 and London radio shows as well as a couple of upcoming podcasts.

Influenced by the broader dub techno realm, but also sounds from Detroit and contemporary ambient music, nature, travels, & meditation, and a columnist of Magnetic Magazine for the dub techno chart, Angel’s commitment to music and arts remains true to itself.

People think that dub-techno is just audio meditation or calm music to sit and listen, but no, in my mixes I use high low-frequency modulation to create a dancing vibe and make your body move! From the early days of the free party scene from brickworks to caves to beaches Ive been there filling generaters banging tent pegs ,laying cables carrying soundsystems  known as "Jim the WaterMan" wandering the party with a waterbutt and cup on a string hydrating party people for fun and spliffs,to making music with 303s samplers and drum machines,putting on Chill Sites at festivals in Tipis djing till dawn,to having a little club in our bassment with brick dj booth, to being in bands nobody heard of playing keyboards,to ,moving to Manchester partying at Bugged out ,to having our own collective putting party nighs on ,to moving to the countryside ,to having an accident  having to walk with sticks no more dancing the night away,so here still djing in my living room with cool tunes I find with my family and cats keeping it real,I do the mixes for me to play in our van and my workshop,I love to share them with you and to bigup the talented folk who make the tunes ,theres so much cool music out there,Im just doing my bit.Enjoy life its the only one you have :}Jim.....
