No, it doesn't make sense to me and didn't make sense 15 years ago when I watched that movie. It actually made me suspicious of all JRPGs. Are FF games this dense?

I dunno, i thought the lifestream was was easy to understand, maybe that means i didnt get it?

I watched this film when I was still very young, and I really really like it. I dont actually want to watch it again in fear of ruining the nostalgia, so to speak. At the time, I absolutely loved the visuals (especially the dream sequences). To me the whole spirit thing make sense, and I like the fact that science and 'magic' were intertwined in the plot with wavelengths and what have you. Having never played FF or even heard of it, this world was very new and exciting to me as a kid. So, Im gonna continue liking the idea of it despite what you two big meanies say :)

You sound like you aren't bothered.  I guess your response is 'The movie couldn't be bothered, so why should we?'   But a poor movie isn't an excuse to phone in a lazy show.  Have some pride.  I really enjoy this show when the energy is put in, but this episode was just 'Its Shit' without much detail.  Example, Gaia is 'ridiculous' but never going further as to why you think so.  Many examples of this until the last 10 minutes where you give the one pre planned point.  I'd love to see some more energy as I think the show can be really good

I must admit, for the first time in Spin-off Doctors history, it's been a rather tiresome podcast... That's probably because I've seen the film when it was originally out and I agree with everything said here, so you could say it's a case of FFTSW PTSD.

I know this podcast is a year old, but I've been catching up on the show (and watching the damn movies) and this IS the first one to make me really sleepy. I took a nap after watching it.

The protagonist was a "Digital actress" who was going to show up in many different films. That didn't happen either. It was an interesting idea at the time, but hindsight makes us laugh at the notion

Raul Julia's amazing performance, Vega's fabulous features, the war crimes of Van Damme, and also Kylie Minogue for some reason. 

These things and more combine, with some help from DNA MUTAGEN, to make an incredible comedy movie that's just like Rush Hour. 

Street Fighter: The Movie is a prequel narrative based entirely around clothes. It's brilliant.

In what may be their finest outing yet, your Spin-off Doctors skewer Mr. Olyphant's performance as Agent 47 in the ridiculous 2007 Hitman movie. 

Why doesn't the world's best killer have an alias? How has an Interpol agent pieced together the work of a ghost? Exactly what happened to any of the forgotten characters? 

Hitman 2007 isn't just a bad movie, it's infuriating.

Double Dragon is one of the more curious videogame movies out there, and it's oddly worth watching.

Complete nonsense. Absolutely, thorough, infuriating nonsense. That's the best way to describe Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. 

It's a shorter running time this week because the film has about ten minutes of plot running through 90 minutes of gibberish. 

Despite that, this is actually one of our most entertaining episodes. A triumph, considering what we were working with.

Oh hello there, it's time to have a bad time. We call this time the Bad Time Time. 

Wing Commander is not a very good movie, but we watched it anyway. A 1999 movie that looks like it was made in the 1980s, featuring a plot that makes no sense, a lack of antagonists, and the worst space navy in the universe, it's one of those films that might have been entertainingly bad if it wasn't just plain bad. 

Anyway, your Movie Boys try and make it interesting for you.
