Originally from Istanbul, Turkey, Tuğçe Kurtiş grew up with a love for music. At age 6, she joined the school choir and started singing. Since then, she performed in countless occasions in Europe, Asia, North and South America. Tuğçe studied voice, jazz vocals, and West-African drumming with percussionist Milford Graves and singer & songwriter Sheila Jordan. Various listeners have remarked that her voice is "ethereal", "something ancient, calling from the primeval darkness of fairytale".  Tuğçe has collaborated with Paraguayan musician & producer Santi on numerous albums and EPs. She is the founder of the Kybele project which emphasizes broader inclusion of artists from around the world.

Después de haber estado en funcionamiento durante los últimos 7 años, Departamento Studio Bar, un estudio de música ubicado en la Ciudad de México que se destaca por sus increíbles presentaciones en vivo y su espacio dedicado al arte, ha tomado la emocionante decisión de establecer su propio sello discográfico. La creación de este sello tiene como objetivo principal lanzar el increíble trabajo de la talentosa comunidad de artistas y amigos que nos rodean, así como una selección especial de grabaciones de nuestros primeros días como estudio. A lo largo de los años, Departamento Studio Bar se ha destacado por su enfoque improvisado y ha sido un punto de encuentro para proyectos eclécticos de músicos de todo el mundo en nuestras emocionantes sesiones en vivo. Co-founder of Mexico City’s based electronic music label VAA. From Nu-Jazz to Techno, through Trip-Hop, Funk and Latin music, jiony offers one of the most unique and identifiable sounds in the contemporary downtempo scene. For more than ten years he has been taking chances on slow music in and out of the dance floors, playing alongside Nicola Cruz, El Búho, Matanza and Nicolas Jaar. He collaborates in other projects such as CasaNegra, Ser Humano, Extraperrestre and Karen y Los Remedios. His live acts are multifaceted; one or two instruments, live looping and improvisation, alone or with other musicians. As a DJ and Selector he likes to mix different genres like Hip-hop, Funk, Jazz, Latin, House and Techno.
