For the next release on the label, Undersound reaches to the Caucasian country of Georgia with this electro 4-tracker from @generali_minerali. 
The up-and-coming artist is the booker and sound engineer at the Drama Bar in Tbilisi. 

He opens the EP with two darker jams with swirly 303 lines on steady 808 rhythms. Influences from the late Microlith permeate these tracks, as the artist mentions him as one of his biggest inspirations. 

The B-side slows the tempo down with “808 dream” where delayed melancholic melodies are intertwined with rough saw waves. Finally, “Evening Mood” offers the perfect mood for a warm-up or after party with its downtempo swing and drums.

Now That's What I Call MOY! 2021

One of many debuts at Dekmantel Festival later in the year will come from Detroit in Effect aka D.I.E, the now solo project of Tameko J. Williams, also known as DJ Maaco. The Motor City artist has roots that run deep into techno and electro and have helped make him one of Detroit’s most under the radar but influential acts. Records like ‘RU Married’ are classic to this day, while other releases on M.A.P. Records helped established D.I.E’s sound as the artists themselves tended to stay out of the spotlight. 

But this mix will surely put Williams very much back in the headlines: it’s an hour of pure techno and electro heat from the heart of the 313 area code. Quick, slick mixes keep things moving at a real pace as slippery drums and squelchy bass race out of the speakers. Touching on everything from classic Drexciya to timeless vocal cuts, deeper grooves to all out physical assaults, it’s as much a mixing masterclass as it is a real history lesson.

I love all the tunes in this mix, but unfortunately they never got spun enough at the warehouse parties I DJ'd at between 1996 - 2002. At the time, tunes needed to be as hard and fast as possible to keep the floor moving in the early hours. Listening back to them now, it's hard to imagine why these tunes didn't make it into my sets, but that just goes to show how hard we really partied back then.

Before acid techno was even a genre, these forgotten gems were as hard, dark and raw as it gets. Labels like IMPORTANT, Magnetic North, Missile, NovaMute, Edge and Direct Current were taking acid house to the next level. I discovered the sound via mixtapes as I was too young to experience raves at the time these tunes were made. But, when "Acid Techno" took over London from 1996 onwards and I started DJing at parties, these tunes pounded the sound-system like no others.

We’re Going Deep is a new label run by an old head – Paul Wise aka Placid, born out of a lifelong affair with the many shades of deep electronic music and a thirst for collecting records since 1989.

Rather than staying too hung up on the past, the label’s mission is to release new music for the dance floor, your front room or even just your headphones. If you’ve come across the We’re Going Deep forum – you’ll know all about the journey and the collective digging that goes deep into Acid, Electro, Techno, Deep House and even the odd foray into downtempo territory.

Kicking things off in style, Volume 1 is a four track ep made by four brilliant artists. First up, a legend in the 303 business, Tin Man drops an up-front 303 workout as he takes a large slice of ‘88 influence and delivers a jam packed full of purist panache. Next up, Derek Carr brings his own unique sound of warm detroitesque techno, replete with catchy electronic hooks that draw you in and stick in your head for weeks. On the flipside, close friend and fellow TB-303 enthusiast Posthuman delves deep into his box of tricks. Keeping the acid to the bare minimum on his contribution, he provides an epically deep slice of melancholia led by beautiful chords that keep everything moving. Last but not least, Dircsen slows everything right down and takes us on a journey of pure 303 bliss that will delight newcomers and old heads alike.
