Arc Isla is four piece indie band from Nottinghamshire UK.
Their goal is to carve a way out of the midlands countryside with their idiosyncratic and atmospheric sound.

The band started in 2015 when Lead guitarist/vocalist Edd Saffel met lead vocalist/rythm guitarist Dan Breakell at a small gig in Nottingham.
Spurred by a mutual interest in making indie rock music the two began writting and quickly sourced bassist Ryan bills and drummer Alex Godbold to form Arc Isla.

The band's synth filled melodic breakdowns and hard hitting grungy guitars, as well as catchy lead lines set it apart from the well known indie sound and creates 
it's own place within the genre. Vocal harmonies make up a big part of the bands sound, creating ambient moments of bliss between the fast paced and high energy drum fills.


GUN’s contemporary take on authentic rock gave them an edge over their peers. Formed in Glasgow in 1987 by the Gizzi brothers (Jools & Dante), they came to re-invent the rock ‘n’ roll genre. Their debut album, “Taking On The World, brought with it many successful singles (Better Days / Money) and their follow up albums (Gallus / Swagger) were equally as successful with hits (Word Up / Don’t Say It’s Over / Something Worthwhile). With countless appearances on MTV & TOTP’s, guest slots with acts such as; The Rolling Stones and countless awards, GUN were a band that lived hard and fast in the grunge era of the 90’s but by 1998 the band had decided to go their separate ways.

Fast-forward 10 years to 2008 and GUN received an unexpected prize. Awarded with the prestigious Nordoff Robbins Tartan Clef award for ‘Scotland’s Best Live Band’, GUN decided that they would reform. With the Gizzi brothers at the helm (Dante on lead vocals) the boys enlisted fellow Glaswegians Paul McManus on drums and Jonny McGlynn on Guitar to complete the new line up. With the band back in business, and a stream of live shows under their belt, the new look GUN was met with an overwhelming enthusiasm from both media and fans alike.
The new album see’s Dante taking their music in a new and revitalized direction, one that is mightily impressive live. Dante’s vocal ability and way with words encapsulates the crowd and keeps them as enthused with the new tracks, as they are when they hear the old ones.

The album also features appearances by Michael McDaid (Bass and vocals) and Gavin Fitzjohn (Brass) both from Paolo Nutini’s band and has been co-produced by the Multi instrumentalist Simon Bloor (Seal).

With a buzz starting to build around their new album, the band is excited about getting back on the road, showcasing new tracks and even more excited about the adventures that await them in 2014.
