	Sweden’s psychedelic doom band, Monolord, is set to release their First full length LP “Empress Rising” via Easy Rider Records in April 2014.  The five song album comes in at almost 50 minutes of skull crushing heavy grooves and  heavy guitars that summon the spirits of  Norse gods when played at loud volumes.   Monolord is for more than just doom-metal fanatics—this is an epic record for all fans of guitar driven rock and roll, stoner rock, and heavy riffs.  As a free gift from Monolord and EasyRider Records you can download the title song “Empress Rising” here.  The song is a 12 minute long opus that will leave you wanting more, but you will have to wait until April 1 2014 for the rest of the record that will be making headlines for next year. 
 
	Empress Rising has all of the flavors of an iconic doom record and follows in the footsteps of Sleep Holy Mountain, Pallbearer “Sorrow and Extinction”, Electric Wizard “Witchcult Today” with melodic vocals and harmonies that are super psychedelic and easy to sing along with.

About Monolord- 
	Formed in 2013, this band is made up of Swedish rockers Thomas Jäger, Esben Willems, and Mika Häkki.  Both Jäger and Willems were in the Swedish boogie rock band Marulk and started Monolord as a side project as a way to play some more heavier tunes, they quickly added Häkki (from The Don Darlings, ex Rotten Sound) and realized that they had something very special between the 3 of them.  Monolord became very real very quickly and recording commenced in early 2013.  Thomas Jäger had not sung in a band before this one, but you would never know it by the sound of it.  Having met EasyRider Records head hauncho Daniel Hall over instagram in May of 2013 when the record was ready to listen to, EasyRider was one of the first that it was sent to and picked up the band immediately after hearing the finished album that will come out worldwide on April 1, until then you will have to sit tight with this first offering of pure hellfire of unrestrained heavy doom that has the ability to shatter windows and put people into an induced coma.

Heavy, San Francisco punk 'n' roll band HOT LUNCH has signed with NYC's Tee Pee Records. The group will release its self-titled debut LP Hot Lunch on March 12. Recorded at Louder Studios in Grass Valley, California with producer Tim Green (Jawbreaker, Christian Mistress, Earthless), the album features ten tracks of HOT LUNCH's rallying rock which has been described as "gritty blues-rock (that) keeps the tempo driving hard and heavy with generous helpings of amplified tin sludge and plenty of wailing six-string digressions" that "could have easily been plucked out of the burgeoning hard rock scene of the late '60s and early '70s, competing for decibels with the likes of Blue Cheer and the MC5" by the San Francisco Chronicle.

     Following the sudden implosion of San Francisco's heaviest (and quite possibly hairiest) rock band PARCHMAN FARM, singer Eric Shea built the heavy punk 'n' roll quartet HOT LUNCH. With vintage tube amps the size of refrigerators and a behemoth drum-kit, the group entered California's Louder Studios to record their debut album. The resulting, self-titled Hot Lunch is a ten song romp overflowing with heavy, hard-driving guitars, born-to-be-a-breakbeat grooves, throbbing, melodious bass lines and the BAD ASS vocals of Shea (the dude can really fucking sing!). This is scuzzed-up, red hot garage rock and roll that pushes HOT LUNCH to the forefront of the awesome west coast scene of bands currently redefining skate-rock. Fuck the cold leftovers, it's time for some scorching HOT LUNCH!

The Picturebooks, a blues-soaked duo featuring singer/guitar player Fynn Claus Grabke and drummer Philipp Mirtschink, will release their North American debut album, Imaginary Horse, on Oct. 7 via RidingEasy Records.

It's not surprising that The Picturebooks recorded their 2014 album, Imaginary Horse, in the same garage where they regularly refurbish and repair motorcycles and choppers. The German duo—Fynn Claus Grabke [vocals, guitar] and Philipp Mirtschink [drums]—capture a raw, rich, and real energy befitting of the room's natural reverb, industrial aura, and spiritual spark. Most importantly, the record also begins to rev up the boys' career like never before.

Fynn and Philipp first crossed paths at a local skate park. Becoming fast friends, they realized their mutual interests extended beyond shredding half-pipes and into music like The Smiths, The Cure, and Minor Threat. Soon, they began writing songs together, utilizing equipment Fynn's dad Claus had accumulated over his years as a musician and record producer. After two independent releases in Europe, the pair played major festivals such as Sziget and toured with everybody from International Noise Conspiracy to Spinnerette. Simultaneously, they garnered international attention for their motorcycle builds and received prominent profiles in tastemaker publications including DICE Magazine, Kustom, and many others. They made their first trek to the United States in 2013. Following an explosive Hollywood gig supporting Eagles of Death Metal for DICE, they embarked on their inaugural North American tour and buzz began to organically spread through word of mouth and social media. By the time they returned home, the group had inked a deal with Riding Easy Records.

The Picturebooks retreated to their "garage" in order to record Imaginary Horse during early 2014. Mirroring their daredevil skateboarding ethos, they broke rules while recording. For starters, there was considerable physical space between the musicians and the microphones, and it wasn't simply a sterile studio environment. The concrete floors and airy expanse contributed to the sound, and the overall atmosphere proved quite apropos. Ultimately, all of these pieces form a blues rock pastiche that's as individualistic as it is infectious. The Picturebooks' Imaginary Horse becomes a reality for rock 'n' roll now. "We never wanted to sound like anybody else," concludes Fynn. "We've done everything possible to create something of our own. I hope people see that, hear it, and feel it."

The Picturebooks play Riot Fest in both Chicago and Denver this September with more North American performances to be announced soon.

The Trashmen - I'm Not Your Stepping Stone

Randy and the Radiants were an American garage rock band from Memphis, Tennessee who were active from 1962-1966 and then again 1976-1984. They were one of the most popular groups in the Memphis area during the 1960s, and though their association with Knox Phillips, son of Sam Phillips, they signed with Sun Records and recorded two singles on the label which became hits in the region, particularly their second release, "My Way of Thinking", which became one of the top hits in the area, reaching #1 on WGMN's charts. The group's work has today become highly regarded amongst garage rock enthusiasts and collectors.

Love is a Word is the second track taken from the forthcoming City Rock Dove from The Smittens.

Missy says: “This song came after I heard the buzz and learned personally, that love is and requires action. This one could potentially be written forever because the list of love metaphors is never ending. Love is potential, love is forethought, love can be cruel, exalting and regular and love is definitely fun to sing about!”

The Smittens are a 6-piece indiepop band that make upbeat and introspective tunes, tinged with vulnerability and optimism. While sonically the elements of multi-layered harmonies, countermelodies and ba-ba-ba singalong hooks still play a large part in The Smittens’ approach to songwriting, as each of the 4 main songwriters has grown, the overall perspective of the songs seems a bit moodier, and more serious. They’ve long since left behind the label of being a ‘cute’ or ‘twee’ band since their debut album 15 years ago.

City Rock Dove is instead an album of transition, ennui and nihilism; honing in on personal politics and gender queerness. The album contends with the turbulent changes of modern America serving only to cement the status quo - and it’s not just the outside world that’s changing either: The Smittens are also singing about the changes in themselves and taking a hard look inside. Gary Olson (Ladybug Transistor) returned to mix the new album, having been instrumental in helping develop the richer textures first seen on 2016’s Love Record Breaker EP.

The band is friends first and open-hearted indiepop revolutionaries after that. Max Andrucki, Missy Bly, Colin Clary, Dana Kaplan, Holly Chagnon, and David Zacharis switch up instruments, song-writing, and singing to create catchy, harmony-driven pop anthems and queer love songs—always brilliantly lyrical, and often brazenly political. They’re based in Burlington, Vermont and in New York City. City Rock Dove is their 6th studio album, and third release with Fika Recordings.

The Smittens will be in the UK late July playing dates in Cambridge, London and Sheffield before performing at the Indietracks Festival in Derbyshire.
