New Bosses Do Battle (Devil's Disco)

There are two great things to come out of Gütersloh, in North West Germany. No 1 - The Pickert, made out of flour, milk, eggs, currants and yeast, with a recipe dating back to 1900 which is still popular and served in restaurants today. No 2 - Ike Dusk, the latest signing to User Experience. With solid, forward thinking tracks already released on Obscuur, Nocturnal Frequencies and Impeto and remix’s for I Hate Models and Plukk to name a few he is continuing to execute his raw and driving productions into 2018 with style. UX004D comes backed up with remix’s from Jamie Curnock & JoeFarr.

Obscuur 58 is delivered courtesy of Alessandro Nero. Two original tracks of seriously messy and funked up techno, guaranteed to make you jack. Gritty and squeaking, rolling and growling, the man Nero certainly knows how to throw a track together. RE_P provides the first remix with a snarling, almost guitar like lead riff whilst Maureille closes out the release with some blissful old school acid sounds.

Soma label heads Slam are back on home turf with another high pressure release, the Sense Of Purpose EP. The pairing of Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle hit hard once again with 3 expertly crafted tracks that give a nod to the roots of the tougher side of Techno.

Opening track Capture harks to the unrelenting nature of early 2000s Techno. A sturdy blend of hammering percussive elements, backed by rebellious vocals make for a typically high octane track Slam. False maintains the pressure but has a more warped and hypnotic hook that adds even darker overtones. Episode closes out the EP and has a trademarked Slam groove element whilst still remaining rough and ready as added dubbed out atmospherics and pads play to the tracks deeper momentum.
