Duja and J.Brenner return for another mix in a Red Peak Style. Throughout all our mixes, we have a special place in our heart for Mix 002, and the ambient dub journey it took us on. We tried once more for a journey into the more obscure, but the mix was lost due to technical difficulties during recording. It appears the planets have aligned, and another adventure to the outer realms of the dubiverse is underway. Buckle up the seatbelts, equip the space helm, dial up the volume to 9 and the bass to 11. We are ready for lift off! Enjoy the meditation in a different style!

A small den of roots and culture in the midwest, Denver has its own unique appreciation for the qualities brought forth through Jamaica in it’s musical conquest of the world. It can be seen vigorously in Denver's techno and EDM dance scene but also in its deep and dubby roots scene brought forward through multiple sound systems in the Front Range. Blas Goncalves-Borrega has a small part in this bigger picture as a selector, friend and artist. He brings forth a heavy and mystic mix of rare and obscure roots for the mad scientists at Red Peak Sound, with each song I selected having Jack and Justin on my mind. Peace and Love is the message!

Swiss duo QZB make their second solo outing of the year for Critical with the ‘Kilowatt’ EP - packing four high-voltage drum & bass stunners, primed to electrify any dancefloor.

‘Antidote’ opens in cinematic style, layering lush soundscapes and drifting vocals over a moody filtered bassline; cross-wired with manic, razor sharp breakbeats.

Title track ‘Kilowatt’ is a simpler, but no less powerful groove, aimed straight at the rave, pushing things hard, deep and deliciously minimal.

‘Waste Your Time’ sees QZB link again with vocalist Sydney Bryce, whose vocals stretch and scatter across flicking snares and filtered, twisted bass; while ‘Cut Off The Top’ rolls out a dark jump-up rhythm kept moving by smart sound design and the bars of MC Freddy B.

Born in Southampton, United Kingdom, growing up in Baltimore, MD, USA but now based in North Carolina, Joe Nice is universally recognized as the ambassador of the dubstep sound in North America and has been highly instrumental in the growth and success of dubstep and bass music for the past eighteen years. Essentially, he played dubstep before the genre had a name. He is North America's first and most respected dubstep DJ and is globally known as one of the most genuine and talented artists in the dubstep community. 
	Joe started playing dubstep in June 2001 with a collective of Baltimore DJ's, the 2 Charming Crew. Nice earned a residency at Sonar Baltimore and headlined local, regional and national shows shortly afterward. In September 2003, Joe Nice co-created a monthly internet radio show on GourmetBeats.com. His show was the first to feature dubstep in North America. In June 2005, while gigging and doing internet radio, Nice co-founded and was a resident DJ at the first dubstep night in North America, DubwarNYC.
He is the first American-based DJ to play on London pirate radio, Rinse FM, the first American-based DJ to play the legendary DMZ bi-monthly bash, and the first American-based DJ to play FWD>> @ Plastic People. In 2007, he was proudly selected as one of URB magazine's NEXT 100. In July 2011, Nice became a resident DJ at a new dubstep night in New York City, Reconstrvct. In May 2012, Joe transitioned his monthly radio show from Gourmetbeats.com to the award-winning SubFM, where his GourmetBeats radio show is heard on the second Tuesday of each month, 7 pm - 9 pm EST. On the 2015 edition of the dubstepforum.com awards, Joe received the most votes in the “Best DJ” and “Best Radio Show” categories. Also in 2015, Joe created his record label, GourmetBeats, which releases new music on vinyl and digital formats and features leading and upcoming worldwide dubstep production talent. In September 2019, GourmetBeats Radio celebrated 16 years of internet radio broadcasts. In November 2019, GourmetBeats released its 25th record with several more releases planned for 2021 and beyond. 
Since 2001, Joe Nice has performed in over 150 cities in 50 countries, across 6 continents. His worldwide fan base continues to grow with his enthusiastic live performance, stage presence, upfront selection, and skillful mixing.
