When listening to Augenmerks poetry I have thought of a dream situation in which the subconscious mind shows one's own torn soul life in a dream. That is why the somewhat gloomy mood, up to the time when the angle of view changes and the sight of life is brightened. After a stormy sea trip, the soul comes to rest. So after the roaring storm, as a background noise, the soothing creak of a sailing ship at the end. Hope you like that soul (sea) trip.

Mein Kopf ein schwankendes Tanzschiff, und ich Passagier, Tänzerin auf hoher See mit Seegang, der die anderen Gäste, falls es sie überhaupt gibt, längst schon an die Reling vertrieben hat, sich zu übergeben. Eher noch bin ich am Schiff einzig verbliebener Fahrgast, dem klar wird, dass auch die Mannschaft verschwunden und nun alle Aufgaben von ihm selber schnellstens zu übernehmen sind, denn sonst? Sonst? Ich weiß es nicht. Tag, was ist sonst?

Und antworte mir: gar nichts. Kein Untergang, nur das bekannte Geschehen, das langsam und an meinen Ängsten rudernd ins offene Meer hinausführt, wo mich Kraken in vielarmiger Untergangssinfonie erwarten. Die Röhre vergrößern. Das einengende Monokular weglegen. Erkennen, dass jeder kleine Ausschnitt, der als Wirklichkeit galt, ein Punkt nur, winzige Zone in unermesslicher Vielfalt von Möglichkeiten. Diese Tage - Augenmerk & OMCB

I had asked my musician friend Les (Heavenly Vine @eljay-15) to write lyrics for my song "Captured In Rhythm" and to sing it. The old version was just somehow not finished yet. Les has given the song a new title and great lyrics about the possibilities of a trip with a time machine. I was thrilled by the idea and delighted at the result, a journey with a beautiful chrome flashing time machine.  

It is a beautiful dream to change the course of history and save the world. with the help of a time machine. But at least we can travel to the future with our dreams and hope for a better world. Thanks a lot Les for that great collab. Boarding and dreaming now.

I am by no means in the habit of explaining what I was trying to say in a piece of music. It's be better to stick to answering questions if asked(not that for the most part people's interest in my music rises to the level that they do ;). I've started to rethink that position though, in light of my own interest in what the people I listen to are thinking, and in any case I probably owe my collaborator a fuller accounting. I'll start with my own relationship to hip-hop. I'm older than the form. Making it the only major form of music that that is true of. It was also born close, geologically and culturally, to where I'm from but not in my neighborhood so to speak. So to me it's like the kid from down the block, say, four years younger. Growing out of the same environment, ie. soul, funk, jazz, etc., but with a bit of a divide. That being it's original construction out of samples. It was an audio collage art form. This has over time changed of course, although the original form still exerts influence over the way it's played and constructed. I had none of this in my mind when I sent the original tracks to Marquis(Couch King) but when he sent back his first rough draft of his rap; a thought came together in my mind. His speedy delivery set against my languid backing track brought to mind a slightly self conscious dinner guest. A new friend over for the first time. Filling in details of his life, and how he thinks about it, through stories of his past. The first verse addressing his new friends on his background. Small talk if you will. As he gets more intense though he starts to really talk to, in his mind, his father and then an old lover. Not unusual in an interesting, thoughtful conversation, no? I'm taking the role of the host of course. Inviting the younger, but now mature, man from the old neighborhood to my home. It's a dinner party so there are other people there. Chirping in about drinking, smoking, Nietzsche, chasing girls and his date sighing about his story(the samples in order except the bell which I'd rather not explain, you've got to leave something, no?). The music changing as his stories effect the mood in the room. The host though shares nothing. Polite and reasonably warm but sphinx like and a bit haughty. Making interesting ambiguous comments and not explaining them.

More recently, he gave his name to Saturn's sixth-largest moon, discovered by Herschel in 1879 and thought by many to be the only other body in our solar-system that might harbour life. Could this be true? Why not join me on an inter-planetary mission to explore its icy depths and we can find out for ourselves...

There are so many great musicians on SoundCloud, I wish I could make music with everyone of you. I often reflect on all the great music you have all made, how we are constantly making new songs (because that is what artist do), and how many of our great creations can easily get forgotten. Most of our songs don’t get a chance to live like those songs that get repeated on the radio. And while many of us probably don’t like mainstream radio, many of us would probably like our best songs to have a bigger life, or at least shine a little brighter and be remembered a little longer. As a way to breathe additional air into one of our community members older music, I selected 5 tracks from Hot Os discography and remixed them to make “Twenty Twelve”

Humongous thanks to Hot Os for letting me select and edit 5 prime beats as well as raid his Instagram account for Zine images. Darren Douglas Danahy wrote a complete demo version of this song in Ableton Live and as is our usual workflow he sent me the whole project and we went from there.

Drums from Stoney were added to replace most of the Digitakt ones, new bass was added by me and another lot of Bass 6 by 3D as well as vocals from Kathy Freeman and Stone.

All in all a fun project and a great track to launch the new BC page, thank you 3D for graciously letting me have your hard earned creativity adorn this and for Kathy and Stone joining in the fun.

"Jörg S. born in Cologne, from youth on, is fascinated by all kinds of art, so he taught himself the saxophone very early. Nowadays flutes of all kind are also part of the equipment, as are jaw harps, percussion, bass, guitars and keyboards.
He was and is always involved in many band projects and session events.
In the 80s he was a saxophonist in the Adam Noidlt Intermission Orchestra with gigs in Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Basel. Very early on he also worked as a writer with live readings in the Cologne area and was a painter with large formats for many years, all in addition to his job as a graphic designer. Now, retired, he is devoted solely to music: home recording with the platform of choice, Soundcloud and global collaborations."
