The quarterlife blues is real. After graduating, getting your first job or your first longterm relationship, plenty young people in their mid 20s fall into the quarterlife crisis, an existencial crisis with similar signs to the midlife crisis. Our song "Quarterlife Blues" turns this feeling of being scared, lost and confused in early adulthood into heavy blues rock. It's the first song I recorded with my guitar, and I am super lucky with Andrea's lyrics and David's rocking blues vocals and guitar solos. Let's rock!

Quarterlife Blues

Not far from Jena, in Thuringia, there is small village hidden in the forest, a valley away from through roads. It’s called Tautenburg, this year it celebrates its 800 th anniversary.

Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900) spent his summer retreat there in 1882, walking, writing on „Die fröhliche Wissenschaft“ (translated as "The Gay Science",  „The Joyful Wisdom“ or „The Joyous Science“).
And awaiting the arrival of Lou Andreas-Salomé (1861-1937), a widely travelled Russian writer, narrator, essayist and psychoanalyst.
 
The refrain quotes a short poem he wrote to her. (translation mainly by machine)

I have inspiration often alone, in my bed, tucked in under the blankets. I take out my laptop and microphone and make these songs with a tears runing down my face. Music is my everything, perhaps I am what they call hypersensitive, very common in the music world. Too much pain in my life to digest, but now

"Jörg S. born in Cologne, from youth on, is fascinated by all kinds of art, so he taught himself the saxophone very early. Nowadays flutes of all kind are also part of the equipment, as are jaw harps, percussion, bass, guitars and keyboards.
He was and is always involved in many band projects and session events.
In the 80s he was a saxophonist in the Adam Noidlt Intermission Orchestra with gigs in Berlin, Cologne, Düsseldorf and Basel. Very early on he also worked as a writer with live readings in the Cologne area and was a painter with large formats for many years, all in addition to his job as a graphic designer. Now, retired, he is devoted solely to music: home recording with the platform of choice, Soundcloud and global collaborations."
