Welcome back to the Magician On Duty Podcast Series!

On this month's edition, we welcome Überhaupt & Außerdem.

Überhaupt & Außerdem: Philipp and Andreas, twin brothers from other mothers - born on the same day in the same year, share the same shoe size.  They initially bumped heads in the city of Tübingen as band members and promoters in the creative scene. Soon, they joined their longtime shared passion for electronic music and DJ'ing, which quickly morphed into first independent productions. 

During the time of the Covid-19 pandemic they fully immersed into their creative work. Their sound might be perceived as downtempo with substantial attention to detail and complexity. It is sustained by an emotional touching spectrum of fluffy warmth to gloomy drive that never lacks attitude. 

Later this year, you can expect more remixes, releases and podcasts among other content through Deep&Smooth, Katahaifisch, WAYU, Baikal Nomads and a spectacular EP on my label with remixes from Benøir & Mcfly MX

This is a special full moon for me. My son Jari turned 19 today and on this special occasion we decided to release his first ever recording of his piano playing. He wrote this song a few years ago and we caught it in the studio~My gratitude to this beautiful person in my life~

Words can not begin to describe all the feelings that the Crop Psycles Collective stir up within me, even as I type an uncontrollable smile has erupted on my face! Each and every member shines in their own special way as they share their knowledge, skills, humour, playful vibes and unconditional kindness with each other and the wider community.

I am beyond thankful for the time and energy invested by all of the crew over the years to continually create cosy welcoming spaces for all to enjoy...Always inspired by the creativity, in awe of the presision tarping - truly a sight to behold! And now humbled by their hospitalitea this particular weekend as I accepted an invite to play music as well as many many games!(The mini golf tale of kismet is one for the books!)

There is no denying the ripple effect from the epicentre of this crop cluster and the good they are doing with their precious time on Earth is just so damn impressive it makes me feel like one lucky gal to be in their orbit!

Niki is a Vancouver-based DJ and musician. From raiding her parents’ record collection when she was just a child, to becoming resident at Vancouver’s MIA, Niki has continuously been living with the music in the forefront. Within a very short time, she has put herself on the map as an up and coming DJ. 

Niki conveys her expression of life to listeners and engages crowds through her live sets when she’s behind the decks , and through dozens of podcasts and studio mixes. Her sets have been described as musical journeys, charming listeners and at the same time inviting them to dive into their own individual world of sensations. 

Niki is the host of Allure on Frisky Radio which airs every 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Eric Dunks Duncan started DJ-ing in Manhattan’s Downtown bar and club circuit in the mid 90’s.
In 1996 he stepped out of the DJ booth to help curate music for the Girl Skateboards movie titled ‘Mouse’. 
A couple of years later, Eric along with Thomas Bullock formed the AfterHours party outfit ‘Rub-N-Tug’. 
In 2006 Eric & Liv Spencer started ‘Still Going’ releasing 2 singles on DFA Records including ‘Still Going Theme’ & ’Spaghetti Circus’ the later featuring the ultra talented Reggie Watts on vocals.
Eric Duncan aka Dr. Dunks has remixed as himself or as part of his collaborations:
Daniele Baldelli, Locosolus, Bryan Ferry, Robbie Williams, Laid Back, Grace Jones, Cold Play, Roxy Music, LCD Soundsystem, Canyons, TV Baby, Beastie Boys, Zero 7, Material, The Presets, Lindstrom, Doves, Todd Terje, Groove Armada & the list goes on.

Om Ganesha is an original adaptation created by Sam Garrett and his beautiful partner Mollie Mendoza. It features the guitar and vocals of Sam as well as supporting vocals and harmonium from Mollie. This track invites the energy of Ganesha - energy to remove obstacles and clear our path forward. 

This track is part of a 4 track series called Elements, due to release in it's entirety on April 22nd.

‘Elements’ represents a fresh and innovative concept in creating and sharing music as a devotional practice. The fruit of this E.P. has been seeded through a magical constellation of friends, drawn together from the 4 corners of the world. The E.P. is a series of four tracks produced by Mose and bringing in the potent voices, prayers and instrumentation of Sam Garrett, Matia Kalli, The Hanuman Project, and Jackson & Marileen.

John Early is an author, yogi, singer-songwriter, founder of ViYarte Retreat Center and co-founder of Momentom Collective. His passion and projects in life are always defining new territory and best approached through his favourite stanza by Hafiz: Laughter, the glorious sound of a soul waking up!

​John's formal education consists of a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Management at the University of Saskatchewan and ESC Rouen, France. Since then, it has been John’s 13 years of globe trotting through which he has found his real education and reason to smile in life.

His award-winning book, Tales of the Modern Nomad – Monks, Mushrooms & Other Misadventures delves into his decade of global backpacking over 30 countries through an eclectic layout of stories, photography, poetry and sidebar sketches. It captures all the travel insight you won’t get in a guidebook - including getting lost in cultural taboos and journeys with psychedelic plant medicines.

John’s current mission is creating inspirational human expeirences via communities and alternate pockets of reality at his venue, ViYarte in Playa Marsella, Nicaragua. A beachside training ground for artists and entrepreneurs to uplevel their mind, body and spirit. The collective intention is that together we can reshape the world through the gift of community and art.
