Founded in Brighton (UK) in the spring of 2012, Southern Sunrise are a band who are bringing together the sounds of country, blues and folk pop. Inspired by the likes of Laura Marling, Noah and the Whale, The Civil Wars and Fleet Foxes, they create mellow, warm and story‐telling pop songs.

The brains behind the project are Shonagh Macleod, born and raised in York (UK), on lead vocals, and Arjan Pieters, originally from Meers-­Elsloo (NL), on guitar. Their paths crossed in Brighton (UK), where they both studied and started the band. The name ‘Southern Sunrise’ is symbolic of their love for the South Coast city and the conception of the band.

They released their debut EP Brighton on the 1st of June 2013, as a testimony to the British seaside town. After a successful UK tour following the release of their EP the band relocated to the Netherlands to pursue their musical career. The band was joined by bassist Daan Gooren and Remco Gerritsen on the keys.

With this new formation, a second successful EP tour followed, this time throughout the Netherlands. The band have played established Dutch venues like Tivoli Oudegracht, Mezz Breda, and De Nieuwe Nor, opening for golden record winner Ozark Henry and Douwe Bob, winner of Dutch TV show ‘The Best Singer‐Songwriter Of Holland.’ Besides that they played the main hall of Paradiso Amsterdam, the most prestigious venue of The Netherlands and shared festival line‐ups with the likes of Miles Kane, Kitty, Daisy & Lewis and Mister & Mississippi. They also enjoyed regional and national airplay and played live on radio show‘Met Het Oog Op Morgen’ on Radio 1.  

The band hit the ground running in 2014 with two successful live tours throughout The Netherlands. Their most recent achievement is the release of their second EP. The new EP will be released on the 27th of September on Southern Music Records. 

Arkansas native Lil Jackson combines lyricism and street knowledge to make music for the south. Inspired by Lil Boosie and the "New Louisiana" movement, Lil Jackson's music is full of southern slang and drawl with a lyrical content that belongs in your playlist. Lil Jackson will be releasing his debut album "Jack Season" on Doughty Entertainment, published by JumpMarleyMusic Publishing, distributed by Record Union on March 14th, 2016 BE SURE TO GO GET A COPY!!!

Do Ask Do Tell is a weekly discussion show of all things LGBTQ. Initially presented by Ian Pope and Ari LW with a host of guests, the show has grown in 2013 to include Allison Downing and Richard Smith on the weekly roster. Do Ask Do Tell is deliberately presented by a group of people with diverse sexualities and gender identities to offer a fuller, more-rounded discussion of issues facing the LGBTQ community and the straight-world's response. With an ethos of social justice and unconditional equality, the show highlights current challenges and celebrates the good news in the move towards a more tolerant and equal society.
