A huge love feeling i had to sing!!! actually, it was when i was 17 lol and i just finished it and im 34 now. I always compose songs so this one i started with the chorus and left this 4 phrase on a paper for 17 years because i forgot the chords!! then finally it came back just like that, as if my hands knows stuffs that i dont know i know loool :) ENJOY!!

Simple chord progression done with rnb 101 guitar playing. Begins with harmonica bend. Vocal delivery mostly on the beat making it more suitable for folk.  A dorian for the ‘going on slowly’ prechorus. The chorus goes from G to D/F# cos’ I wanted a nice bass movement and it also gives it a borrowed chord. I get to play with loud soft dynamics within the chorus and being true to the subject matter ‘pls take what little I have to offer’ is given a minimalist treatment with only vox and guitar. So you have the fierceness of ‘at all’ which is done in almost the same style as ‘give it all’ by Rise Against. The sitar ( only fake instrument) plays a Khamaj raga which is Mixlodyian mode. Know it fucks with the groove but I had to be true to subject matter. Also handpan which is a Christmas gift. Chord progression goes to G which is the key of the bridge. Some superimposition on piano for bridge. G7 which leads to back to Am for deceptive cadence. Ended making the beginning each phrase on the half of each bar. Piano is playing D throughout. Also played with A and C but they didn’t sound as nice. Not since Hurt by Johnny Cash has a single note been milked so hard. Almost EDM drops in the song so I could have turned it into folktronica. Adlibs for the final chorus were done in one take so the length of the final ‘peace’ is random. Can hold a note for longer than that but it's improvised. 

Lyrically, it is a love song/tribute to my fave novel Shantaram. When asked, about my fave song or fave movie I have a list. But fave novel-there’s only one that has brought me inner peace. I was given it by Indian bassist in uni during my first exp as frontman. It manages to be both a page turner and also has a constant mood of inner peace. Great lines as well as great romance between author and Karla. Still a much better love story than Twilight. In that respect the song isn’t too faithful cos it’ mood isn’t ‘constant inner peace.’ There are ‘explosions’ in song. The Indians called the protagonist Shantaram-which means ‘a man of gods peace.’ Not religious but have respect for religion.

Ani auni vevyone. Hashem yashav li (first line is a slight melodic variation of refuge by matisyahu. Live at Stubbs. It’s taken from the Psalm of David and is in Hebrew/Yiddish. Second line is directly taken. I’m told he pronounces it too strongly but it helps with the singing that way.)

 a man of Gods peace (you know how the comments section for ‘Starboy’ is 来个鸡蛋。Lai ge ji dan. which means give me an egg. It's what Chinese people think look what you've done sounds like. Couldn’t unheard it for a while. For this, it’s 妈的尬屁。Which means ‘your mother’s awkward fart.’

Not by what we can inflict  (A line from the novel. Paraphrased)

With the colors of my wit (a lot of drinking goes on in the novel. Also a lot of colors)

Bridge:

I am the mountains that tear through the wind. (Taken from folk song 1 that I wrote. Was the chorus of that song but I didn’t like how it ended so now it’s a bridge. It is similar to, “when they tell you you’re not enough you tell them you are more than enough”- queen of wakanda. ) Also pretty badass vibes which fits the author of Shantaram.

l had to tell my friends of my cancer problem, when l was 23 years old.
Years went by. They thought l was tripping...
Now the best shit: l still have it!! Since last summer we know what the deal is about. 
They never checked the lymph system...

 jetzt bin ich seit ewigkeiten endstadium. das kickt extrem. der schilddrüsentumor und das rieseteil auf der halsaorta sind dem grunge vollkommen egal. lch gehe jetzt nochmal jede kolkhorst epoche durch und mache dazu jeweils ein lied. (hier werden es mehr als eins)  hier sind wir im pathologic neighborhood bereich. diese band gab es von 1987-1994. christoph koch: giraffe - alex koch: bass - piet wagner: dr - michael büttner: bass (später) und ich so als nur sänger, da meine arme vom schlagzeugspiel im eimer waren. dieses lied ist im style von damals.
das foto hat andre schuster  am 20.12.1990 in der nordlandhalle lüneburg geschossen. rock gegen rechts. es gab den abend eine bombendrohung und der raum musste geräumt werden. danach ging dann mit uns weiter.

der highpoint war, als die band in lüneburg 1993 mit dritte wahl und ferris mc in der alten FH lüneburg auftrat. damals als trio mit mir am bass.


ich sang dann in weiteren metal bands, die sich unzählig wieder auflösten, wie bushaltestellen quasi. irgendwann reichte mir dieser komplizierte kram und es ging mit einem chord weiter, den ich dann schon selber spielen konnte.
aber das ist dann die nächste geschichte. und es kann sein, dass das material nicht immer lupenrein ist - ich hab schon probleme bei der herstellung. aber es geht noch xD wenn wir diesen song schon 1990 gespielt hätten, wäre die welt wohl eine andere geworden. 
"hinterher ist man immer schlauer", so könnte diese compilation heissen.

This is "Carry On," an epic metal rock ballad (5:57 min) by Beyond & Before Music, inspired by the novel "Hinter uns das Land" ("Behind Us The Land") by Frank Talmon l'Armée.

Imagine a conceptual band, "Adelheid's Wisdom," performing this track: A powerful, emotional male lead vocal tells a story of overcoming adversity, of stumbling and rising again. He's supported by haunting, mystical female and male vocals and an epic soundscape blending the intimacy of piano and cello with the power of distorted guitars, driving drums, and orchestral elements.

The song features dynamic shifts, a spoken word interlude with thunderous undertones, a soaring guitar solo (melodic building to a shred), and a massive final chorus. It's a song about the scars that make us stronger, the battles within, and the unbreakable spirit that carries us on, together.
