How to Influence A Million Friends IRL

The practice of becoming a more compassionate human  is accomplished through exercises and of kindness - calculated acts of kindness - that we must practice everyday with loved ones.

Today after my gymnasium workout (Fitstop24) and some errands and chillaxing, I drove to the Niles River Front Street Playground with my neighbor and surrogate Grandmother, Grace.   Grandma Grace is quite the amiga de mi.  She is very wise.  She is NOT my girlfriend.  She is 84 years old, and I am 37.  We provide each other with invaluable companionship.  I wash her windows, take out her trash, walk her cat, and my favorite "chore" (they're really activities I accomplish with gleeful zest, so they are not mere chores) is reading about Irene Adler, Sherlock Holme's love interest in Carole Douglas's "Good Night, Mr. Holmes".  She lets me utilize ALL my accents.  I whip out london cockney at times and use american and deep british accents when I'm reading to her.  All the time in France I did free librovox recordings but I did them to Garageband on my macbook!  It feels great to have an audience and most importantly....

I have finally found a small pocket of friends (Grandma Grace likely being the best one) where I can be my energetic, happy, and highly linguistically-gifted accent-using self without being patronized, belittled, ridiculed, stomped on emotionally, or attacked.  I feel safe with Grandma Grace.  She lets me be myself!!!

So this is the 360° turn we just did, but we gathered some gift goodies - life lessons.  Here we go:  Always focus on the good you will FEEL upon doing a kind act to a person.  If the person is a good match for you (in regards to friendship exclusively or a love interest as well), you will feel as or more rewarded than expected.

Another great neighbor friend of which I am grateful to have is my neighbor 26 year-old, Nate O'flynn.  He's popped up on my recent adventures.  These days, we're like content hobbits living in the Shire with our hearty hobbit homes and our lives and of course...our pipeweed!  Nate has given me a lot of upgrades and I believe I have boosted some components of his life as well.  From Nate, I got back into vapinG, which is a much healthier alternative to cigarettes.  Nate encourages me - indirectly and with subtlety - to go one step further and he really is a great coach.  One thing I love about Nate is his ability to be a great protector and friend for his girlfriend, Kacie.  Whenever Kacie is home, Nate is a different man.  Kacie, Nate, and I all have an inside joke that Nate is like Simba, Kacie is the life partner of Simba, Nala, and I am the good chum of Simba's, The bird Zazu. LOL.  Of course, like Nate has, I want to be my own John "Simba" Kooz and discover and cuddle and kiss and have romance and fun times with my "Nala" human girlfriend!

We decided to move from the hut to the living room for this one. We chose some key signatures, prepared a few drum sequences and loops and captured 2 hours of what happened. This is our most experimental and improvised live session yet.

"Solitude is for me a fount of healing which makes my life worth living.  Talking is sometimes a torment for me, and I need many days of silence to recover from the futility of words" - Carl Jung

This is a quote from Carl Jung, the great mind that founded analytical psychology and brought us the delights of the collective unconscious, the powerfully important transformation of individuation, and archetypes of human experiences.  Jung and I both understand the immense value of solitude.

Solitude is a very potent and powerful reservoir for crafting positive, clarifying, and centering emotions in our lives.  Solitude and private space are true gifts.  It's a very healthy agenda to seek healthy nature, organized, and focused solitude.  Meanwhile, privacy gives you tremendous control because you can arrange things the way you want them and get everything just "set up" correctly, quite easily with privacy.  Nature, running, yoga, tea, meditation, life scribing (which is both Western and Eastern medicine, more on that below), and physiological alignment exercises are genuine medication for us.   Develop rituals and relationships with food and drink that engages you in a way that produces a centered, focused, peaceful outcome.  This way, your rituals inject control, safety, and mastery into your life!
