Disquiet Junto Project 0196: Whole Lotta Whole

I 'read' the notes in the picture as points on a waveform. I drew the waveform in audacity, then because there were 15 notes paulstretched it x1500. then i cloned that 15 times and it was a huge wall of static which was a bit much (even for me). then just manipulated each track with loads of fx all based on the number 15 (phaser, pitch, vocoder, tremolo etc), eventually adding wahwah to everything because i loved the phase effects.

I love the idea of making music from almost nothing: no instrument, no sample, no feedback; just drawing the frequencies myself.

something from nothing (disquiet0196) (short)

I played the notes through a synth thingie on logic pro called marbles in a bowl, copied and pasted into another couple of synths and then into a drum track with a load of tape delay.
 all this while listening to very loud country music from a 3 day country music festival taking place at the end of my street from which my wife and 5 year old daughter just returned, carrying a delicious kransky  on a roll with kraut and heaps of mustard. i ate the whole thing.
it runs a little long at 2.37minutes because of the delay on the drum track, switch it off when you get bored, I did.

I only use the written sequence of notes..always the same pace but using several instruments.
Just an old vinyl crackle sample in order to increase the sense of memories...

CoaT - Parallel Wholes (disquiet0196-Wholelottawhole)

All done on the viola - I experimented with a few different combinations of reverb and delay pedals and played each note pizzicato - though I did cheat and bowed the first note too having that running underneath throughout the piece. It reminded me of some old ambient tapes that I have so I also stuck a tape hiss/crackle up on there too - seemed to tie it all together.
