True dedication is difficult to find these days, as is motivation when digital media has overthrown old school methods, which makes running a label an even more sinuous mission. But it’s not just the approach related to creating and promoting labels that has shifted recently. In recent times, the way we make and consume music has transformed as well. A label’s role has changed into that of a full on curator, influencing current musical trends based on their selection of outputs. But it’s not a status that is easily achieved, by all means.
Moving at its own pace, ten years in the world of dance music come as a century in real life, as dancefloor trends fluctuate. In such a surrounding, creating timeless pieces is essential when maintaining a high calibre establishment. But thanks to platforms such as Soundcloud or the ever-pervasive social media channels, it’s easy to showcase tracks and kick off labels without needing the once coveted record deal. Nevertheless, record labels serve as beacons in a world where we’re inundated by more and more content.
More than just a release platform, labels are indispensable partners in artists’ careers as the one to curate only the best music, accompany it with according designs, as well as bringing in new marketing ideas or even music videos. Shir Khan’s Exploited label has been a true example of such a label, hand-picking new producers to showcase, nurturing them from early beginnings into popular household names.

Shir Khan’s strong ear for talent has seen him responsible for launching the careers of Claptone, Adana Twins, Joyce Muniz through their releases on Exploited, the label also providing a platform for established remixers and artists such as Siriusmo, Freeform Five, Munk, Modeselektor, John Tejada, Phil Weeks, Cosmin TRG, Locked Groove, Deetron, Detroit Swindle, Acid Pauli, Ralph Lawson...

This was love at first listen for us and from there the track just grew bigger and better.

Mario Basanov is one of our favourite producers and we are honoured to finally add him to the Noir Music roster. Just as you think you heard the perfect track Mario twists and tweaks the music, creates the perfect groove and serves a dish that might even taste better. This remix is so damn well done and a perfect example of why we got nothing but love for Mr. Basanov.

We have been waiting for the perfect track to hand over to the talented Balcazar & Sordo to get them on remix duty for NM2 and boy are we happy with the choice.
This remix makes the track even more melancholic and the moody groove keeps you locked in all the way and wanting more. Please do notice the build all the way through with sub-additions being added towards the end. Clever production from the rising stars of Mexico.

The 12” release comes with the original mix of the Penner + Muder underground hit ‘Presence of Another Man’ for the first time on vinyl, as well as two remixes by Round Table Knights and Noir on Side B.
The Round Table Knights remix will be available digitally four weeks after the vinyl release. The Noir remix was originally released as part of the ‘5 Years of Noir’ compilation earlier this year, and is available digitally via Beatport.

John Monkman’s record kicks off with the anthemic “K.I.S.S. M.E. feat. Morgan Mackintosh”. An uncharacteristically uplifting track that combines a freestyle bassline with gated 80’s drum sounds and amazing vocals by Morgan Mackintosh… 
B1 Jessica is a very special track, the descending organ riff, almost an acid house motif gives it an anthemic quality. The “You and Me” vocal offers just as much hook as it needs to be. 
B2 is a late night sleaze for the well-tuned dancefloor or the perfect track to help the crowd find its footing during the opening hour. The entire seven minutes ooze with polished future-house bass and the tracks being championed by top tier talent worldwide. His latest live show, Pulse, premiered in Paris through a collaboration with Collectif Scale, breaking new ground with its kinetic light art installation. Filmed in a Paris warehouse on July 6th, this show delivers an immersive audiovisual experience that pushes creative boundaries.
