🎶🐉 The Music Medicine A living experience exploring, studying, and sharing diverse musical approaches and schools of thought/practice, blending tradition & modernity, spirit & reason, celebration & meditation.

Founded by ethnomusicology researcher, music therapist, musician, composer & DJ, Dimitri Dermentzioglou, The Music Medicine uses music as a tool to awaken creativity, potential, and connection, educate about music and its history, bring people and cultures together, and foster harmony & joy.

Rooted in indigenous and plant medicine rituals in Brazil, inspired by the symbol “YAO” 藥 (Medicine + Music in pre-Chinese language), and enriched through contact with Sufism and spiritual traditions around the world, the project is a living school of medicinal music, exploring its science, mysticism, and transformative power.

Through sound, music, dancing, chanting, ritual, and celebration, The Music Medicine facilitates safe spaces for expression, personal development, and collective well-being.

From The Music Medicine grew The Ministry of Music Medicine (MOMM), a temple of music, ritual & community.

In every moment of my life, sound and music have been my guiding spirits, leading me through the profound depths of self-expression, initiation, purification, and the sacred alchemy of transformation.

Sound and silence are potent medicines, each resonating with the wisdom of the earth and the cosmos. My sets are a journey into the worldly and the haunting, tailored to evoke the raw emotions that rise on the dance floor. Each dance becomes a tapestry woven together by the collective energy of those present, with every journey unique and transformative.

My path through sound and music is one of personal evolution, communal connection, and a fearless dance with the shadow. Within my sets, you will encounter the vibrant rhythms of Latin funk, the pulse of throbbing bass, the grounding of 4-on-the-floor beats, ambient strings that transport you, tribal drums that awaken your spirit, and melodic threads that intertwine with classical compositions, conscious floetry, binaural beats, and the haunting echoes of ancestors yet unknown.

Through dance, we embark on a quest to discover and unleash our true potential, paving the way for a more fulfilling and meaningful existence. By engaging our senses and attuning to our bodies, we transcend the confines of the mind, connecting from the heart and creating a shared consciousness that reaches beyond our individual selves.

During over 13 years of his musical involvement, from the Norwegian Fjord Rave, underground Tokyo venues, through the legendary Berlin Tresor, best polish clubs, to finally the Amazon Jungle and the Sacred Valley of Peru, as one of the very few in the world, he managed to avoid genre labeling and shared the line up with different artists like MOSE, Ape Chimba, Rodrigo Gallardo, Janax Pacha, Laboratorium Pieśni, Dengue Dengue Dengue, Flume, Teebs, Lapalux, Low Leaf and many more. He brought his plant medicine music selection to Ecstatic Dance Sessions in London, Berlin, Romania, Greece, Poland, Peru, Costa Rica and Mexico.  

Nowadays he focuses on rising collective consciousness, producing ritualistic sounds, djing and designing mystical experiences in Peru. In the Amazon Jungle he created an online educational donation based course called 'The Alchemy of Self' and evolved it into a spiritual retreat design agency. He was invited to co-create the McKenna Academy, a modern mystery school of natural philosophy carrying the work and legacy of Terence and Dennis McKenna.
