This song started as a recording of Computart playing the guitar and singing/whistling to a metronome, which you can find raw on his page. Having worked together before on a song called The Shining, the Frenchman reached across the pond again and asked me, the Yank, if I would like to add anything to this. This style of music being one of my favorites, I jumped at the chance. Of course, I got Ken involved right away because every great song needs a great drummer. I came up with a bass line, to which Ken added drums, to which I in turn redid my bass line, as is our usual process. I then added the mandolin. Then, Ken added the hand drums to put the icing on the cake. Tez was generous enough to produce and mix this for us, and we feel like he got it to sound like we were all playing in the same room together.

The older I get the more I realise that the Stairway to Heaven is not an easy path. It is steep and has many pitfalls, many that I have fallen on and many that still allude me. The path is littered with pain and heartache, and no one gets in unless they truly have tried to overcome the pain and hardship of this crazy world. How much Pain do we have to Pay to get inside the Perly gates and is it wort it? I cant answer this one but my song tries to contemplate the trials and tribulations of Life at the moment and asks the question. “When does the bad stuff stop and when does the God stuff start?”

This song began as a well developed, funky disco idea Roy came up with on his guitar, and shared with JJ. JJ added a wonderfully complex orchestration of various keys, including brass, strings, and the sax solo you hear towards the end. 
  JJ invited Stephen Stephen first, who came up with the funky ass wah guitar that also carries the groove. Of course, JJ realized that this is a disco song, so he enlisted Ken to come up with one of his awesome beats to carry it along. JJ had a rudimentary bass line that he played himself, but decided to get me to do the honors instead. So, I came up with a totally new bass line designed to shake your cheeks.
Once it was in the can, we decided to ask have JJ mix it for us. This is a first time JJ has mixed a song for The Eclectic Collective, and we were all impressed with his work. Stephen mastered it, as he is a master masterer. 
  We're all really impressed and delighted with the experience of working with Roy and his music. He is a very talented artist with a lot of great music to check out on his page, too.
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it, and that it makes you shake your hips while you're doing the dishes, too!

“When We’re Far, Far Away”

I’ll be honest — I’ve written a lot of songs I’m proud of, and a few that don’t hit me as deeply now that I’m older and wiser. But this one… this one is different.

It’s one of my favorites.

At the beginning of a relationship everything feels electric — passionate, unforgettable. But distance, time, and life have a way of corroding the surface. With this song, I wanted to strip all of that away and reveal the core. The center. The place where the whole connection was built on small, perfect moments.

Have you ever wished you could stop time?
Or felt that quiet fear that things might fall apart the moment the sunset fades and you let go?

And later, with hindsight, wished you could return to that first spark — the beginning, the center, the version of you both that felt simple and whole?

That’s what this song is for.
I hope you feel it the way I did when I wrote it.

When We’re Far, Far Away

This song focuses on the singular custom of sapiens, to cultivate their wishes in stones, from caves to cathedrals, passing through the most underground night places.

M'Z is the fusion part of my music production works.

The project try to create parallels between music and concepts, philosophie and poetry, a sort of alchemy of emotions and reflexion.

It is a kind of fusion between progressive guitar and electronic programming with incursions sometimes world or psyche, touches of jazzy moods and edgy rock.
