"Where is the morning we ́ve seen yesterday?" (Heiner Müller) Subkutan had a decisive influence on the perception of the Leipzig Club "Institut fuer Zukunft (IfZ)" from the beginning due to his personal presence and the special mixture of his sound from wave, industrial and techno. With his debut album "Unwritten" on Hypress Records he makes clear where he comes from and the cross-references to punk and poetry in a contemporary guise could hardly be more charismatic and immediate. The son out of a family of actors uses lyrical quotations to overcome the boundaries of different musical eras, creating a link between the past, the present and the future - always with a clear fascination for the offbeat stories and open affection for the damned of this earth. With plenty of field recording and spoken words, he shows a multifaceted profile without losing sight of his own sound. Alex.Do (Dystopian, WSNWG), Sylvie Maziarz (Dualism, RAW), Kaltès (Mord) and Kareem (Zhark) underline with their remixes once again the stylistic independence of the album.

Groundwerk Label Boss Joel West Returns with a 4-Tracker that Runs the Gamut Within the Raw Deep Hypnotic Techno Genre, From Bangin Bleep Bloop to Spacy and Melodic

"Recovery" is the bangin-est of the bunch, featuring raw bleep bloops and a driving drum section to fit any peak in an RDH techno set.

"Remain To Leave" was written while Joel was spending an extended period of time in Budapest, reflecting his interpretation of the city's energy while riding trams and wandering along the Danube.

"Just An Expat" continues the theme of being a long-term visitor in a new land, with a dreamier melodic take on a Budapest sunrise. A perfect set ender.

"No Stars" takes us to a more unsettled place, a murky walk through a 4 AM alley, drawn out and eerie.
