Fusing elements of funky breaks, glitch hop, hip hop and bass, with consummate ease, these guys need no real introduction. With such quality, It's easy to understand how they have stacked up a collection of top 10 releases already. The aptly named "Hacienda Funk" Ep is the Niceguys at their forward thinking best, pushing funk sounds into a new direction all of their own. The levels of musicality are there for all to see, while still retaining all the ingredients required to rock a dance floor. Up first, "That Ass" sounds and feels like the title track of an original 70's movie. Whilst over on the flip, the latin flavours of "Valley Hacienda" would not sound out of place playing for sunset at Cafe Mambo in Ibiza, but still holds on to the funk. Two tracks that shouldn't work together on an ep, but full credit the duo's incredible musical ability, and production skills for merging these two sounds together so perfectly. The Two tracks delivered here will keep those summer vibes hanging on for a while longer. Let the sun shine on!

After the original mix gaining much love and support right across the board including plays on BBC 6 music, this remix is a welcome addition to the 'Boogie' package. Rising Star of the scene WBBL adds his unique style of Bass and Funk into the melting pot with his take of the already classic Shaka Loves You track. WBBL instantly transforms this into a festival ready battle weapon for the summer, adding his insanely high-level production and a good dose of bass to Fullee Love's (aka Soup from Jurassic 5) smooth vocals. The remix was something of a passion project for WBBL. After hearing and loving the original mix from the Shaka guys, he approached them directly asking for the parts, so he could make his own interpretation as an exclusive version for his sets, but now you can your hands on this tried and tested cut!

Glasgow funksters Shaka Loves You are riding high right now. Their monstrous single 'Boogie' alongside former Jurassic 5 member Fullee Love (aka Soup) has taken on a life of its own with many labelling it their track of the year. If you add to that their no.1 selling 'Disco Funkin'' compilation, they have set themselves quite a tough act to follow musically. However the new single 'Tonight' manages to deliver the goods and shows just how fast they are developing the Shaka Loves You sound. This time the duo have engaged the vocal talents of Amunda, lead singer from the band Bossy Love, who like SLY themselves are firm favourites with funk aficionado Craig Charles. This is the epitome of highest quality funky warm beats and music loops you can come across.  And Tape Funk isn’t just a clever name; all the drums, percussion, FX and music loops were ran through an old Tape Machine during the tracking process, giving it exactly the tone and character you would desire from funky tape saturated loops and samples! True old school analog flavor is hard to find these days and Basement Freaks knew this and took it straight to the roots; doing the entire process straight onto an analog Tape Machine at Concord Audio facilities. 

Even though drums are the name of the game with this pack, Basement Freaks and Concord Audio didn’t stop there. Tape Funk also includes Fills, Guitars, Percussion, Top Loops, and Music Loops, giving you more bang for the buck and allowing you to create entirely new songs full of musical tape pizzazz.  Alongside all of these carefully crafted tape recorded loops are One Shots and FX. Tying it all together are loads of unique and custom played Brass sections that were recorded live and with various performers, bringing extra fuel to this saturated marvel of a release.

Influenced by the era’s of tape and styles such as Funk, Disco, 70s Soul and Funk, and bands such as James Brown, The Isley Brothers, Sly and the Family Stone, The Chi-Lites ,Gene Chandler and so many more!
