This very special “Cup of Hope”, in collaboration with Deep House Amsterdam, collects money for Volunteers for Humanity, an organization specialized in transporting medical, aid and school supplies to refugee camps around Aleppo, Homs and the Latakia area in Syria.

Cup Of Hope 2017 | Schirmchendrink, DHA & Atish for Volunteers for Humanity

Hard to believe, but it's been a year and half since I released my last studio concept mix. I'm excited to break the streak and share this with you today.

I've always considered these self-released studio mixes the backbone of my identity. They were the primary medium of artistic communication - from me to you - for many years. Of course, some live recordings and guest mixes were released along the way, but they're not quite the same as a self-released studio mix... mostly because these aren't bound by any aesthetic constraints (like the sound of a label, podcast, or responsiveness of a dance floor in the moment). 

These mixes are my most authentic voice.

After taking a long break from the one thing that's been so fundamental to defining who I am, I thought deeply about what I wanted to say, which was a delightful challenge.

How can I remain continuous from where I left off in August, 2017? 

At the same time, how can I avoid falling into the trap of doing what I've always done? After all, music has changed... you've changed... my taste has changed, but I'm still me. Or am I now someone else?
