A story, similarly as an improvisation, should give an impression of a spontaneous stream of events. A good speaker can draw his listeners into a colourful flow of events whose solution is impatiently awaited by them. “The Vortex” is our story. Entirely improvised, it guides us through stylistically diverse moments during which we give in to the attempt to create our own world. A world in which colour is the dominant forming element of our common musical language. Wandering through the internal sound landscapes of such instruments as the Buchla Music Easel synthesizer, modular synthesizer, piano or DSI Prophet 6, we accept the challenge to map these seemingly different musical lands and merge them into a single, organic whole.

Andrzej Karalow / Jerzy Przezdziecki – Lebentanz

This album is a collection, raw and spontaneous, and the fruit of 15 days of artistic residency in the beautiful setting of La Becque, La Tour de Peilz (CH), in partnership with Françoise Siegfried Meier Foundation and the Montreux Jazz Artist Foundation.

A setting in which I was able to express myself, on grand piano and essentially on prepared piano, with introspection and escape.


This logbook is intended to be raw, spontaneous and representative of the immersive moments I have experienced.
Some improvisations are therefore presented, such as the themes "Memories", "Serenity 1 and 2", "La Becque", or experiments ("overdrive", "rework")
The theme "Mrs. Siegfried Meier" is a tribute.

Memories is also composed for PianoDay 2019.

Pink Sky's 3rd LP, meditations II. Recorded in same session as meditations, the sister-album reflects the mood and state of mind of living in a post-traumatic state.

Isolation

Raised in a small village in the very north of the Netherlands and currently residing in Utrecht, Feitsma essentially contributed new nuances to the ever-increasing scene of piano-driven music - an instrument he started to sink his teeth into at an early age already - with his 2019 debut “Under“. The album combined the timeless with the contemporary, offering an intense ride which instantly triggers a palette of emotions among the audience they weren’t aware they were hiding. Two years later, Feitsma’s exploration of the manifold possibilities to manipulate and exhaust his trusted piano continues with a 15-track album titled “Flux“, which feels like the logical successor to “Under“, even though it isn’t shying away from subtlety breaking fresh musical ground. The music of Joram Feitsma is an elaborate affair, it’s deeply heartfelt, it’s sensual, it’s ambivalent, it’s volatile, it’s stunningly beautiful - it’s a work of transience that’s here to stay with the power to emotionally destroy you in the best possible way.

Plentiful in its exhortation, rich in its search for the meaning in emotion while the accompanying instrumentation seemingly feels restrained, poignant to the point of haunting intensity.
