Crazy Little Thing Called Love Cover

This track is a little nuts.....

If you've ever battled a raccoon, this is the song for you, sung from the perspective of the perpetrator. Raccoons are wily little buggers and more than a little guile is needed to control the movements of an animal that has been trapped in a cage before.

Debated with myself a bit on adding more instruments and sounds but in the end decided that less was more. The "rhythm guitar" is a distorted saturated synth and the "lead" is a Logic Pro Heavy Metal guitar manipulated with the pitch stick on my synth. The difficult part was getting the swing on the drums right and the ADSR right on the main synth, modulation and LFO. Also played a bit with the compression to get a breathing sound.

About the raccoon - that battle is ongoing - physical deterrence is now in place.

The raccoon, also spelled racoon and sometimes called the common raccoon or northern raccoon to distinguish it from the other species, is a mammal native to North America. It is the largest of the procyonid family, having a body length of 40 to 70 cm (16 to 28 in), and a body weight of 5 to 26 kg (11 to 57 lb). Its grayish coat mostly consists of dense underfur, which insulates it against cold weather. The animal's most distinctive features include its extremely dexterous front paws, its facial mask, and its ringed tail, which are common themes in the mythologies of the Indigenous peoples of the Americas surrounding the species. The raccoon is noted for its intelligence, and studies show that it is able to remember the solution to tasks for at least three years. When Manuel sent me a guitar track over a year ago I fairly quickly decided to write an epilogue for Major Tom. Little did I know that I would end up taking a longish break from writing music. It's a special honor that my dear friend Michele Ansani asked me if I would like to work on a song he wrote years ago called 'Alla Fine della Fine delle Fini' (To the end of the end of the ends) which is a great track. When I listened to it I said to Michele that I thought the song is already finished and asked what I supposedly could do with it. He said, that he wasn't going to publish it and wanted me to work on the root idea of the song to create something new. The Raven * Instrumental

This song was written in 2007 and is another of my space videos with a ghostly twist. I wrote it as a kind of Halloween ghost in space thing. Charlie sang it very well and I tried to play a very melodic Bass on it, like Chris Squire from Yes. This is a favorite of my wife, she really loves it and I like it a lot as well. I made the video just before I left for vacation about 3 weeks ago. The video turned out really good and I threw in plenty of space eye-candy for everyone to enjoy. Watch the video for the full irony of it all! It's a twisted irony to be a ghost in the machine! This is my #2 video for Halloween 2024 and not very creepy at all. Basically it'a about an astronaut that misses the earth, his wife, his kids, and is stranded on another planet where he dies but his ghost is still floating around lost forever in space, kind of a revamped Space Oddity from David Bowie!
