Open collaborations have always triggered me and they have to be cooked, when they are still hot. So when I listened to the new track of Marquis I knew immediately what I wanted to do and created a remix in a few hours. My approach is, that I have replaced the warm and organic sounding drum-loops with cold and sterile sounding synth-sounds. Though I am far from being a Hip hop-producer I tried to apply a polished and modern attitude. I painstakingly recreated the groove of the original loops, shifting sounds exactly to the same place. All sounds are made with the Zebra-synth and mixed in Logic. I used two raps and tried to create a smooth transition between them.

Rapture is a new collaboration between the Beating Edge and Joe Stroffolino, following the awesome Asteroids (The Original Was Better). Greeting earthlings and welcome to my 6th video offering of spooky songs for this October! 👻! This song I wrote in 2020 for the first Halloween during the pandemic, those were scary times indeed! It wasn't recorded too well, very distorted and punk rock sounding, and I'm singing it so that should send chills up and down your spine already!🎃 I'm off-key a lot on this song and I may wind up deleting it in a few days! It originally wasn't a Halloween song but I turned into one and tweaked the lyrics a little bit and made a spooky video for it! The video is brand new, I finished it a few months ago. It has all kinds of spooky critters in it, the usual cast of horrors, vampires, zombies, killer clowns, yada, yada, and further yada! The lyrics I feel are some of my best, musically I could have done better. (I know but I got the olds! This cover of the CCR version of this Screaming Jay Hawkins classic began as an idea Josh had for Eclectic Collective putting on a musical Halloween costume. He was inspired by his favorite band, Phish, who cover an entire album every Halloween as a musical costume. Although, which song we covered was up for debate from the start. 
  Once we decided on a song, Josh laid down the skeleton for it on his '71 SG. Once we had a framework to work with, Ken laid down his rocking drums, followed by Josh completing the rhythm section by adding his trusty P-bass. Even though the song was now in its infancy, Carl summoned all his Halloween spirit for his dynamic vocal performance.  
  Now that it was sounding like a real song, JJ dropped both the key piano part, as well as his expressive organ in there, too. Mark wasn't far behind, adding his magic via the sax to the solo section, and strings in the third verse. Stephen came through with the spooky tremolo guitar and the fiery first half of the guitar solo in the solo section right after. And to put the cherry on the musical sundae, Tez brought the lightning down for the second half of the guitar solo, as well as the solo work that leads the whole way to the end.
  We all enjoyed bringing this classic song back to life, and doing it in the spirit of what may be the most fun holiday on the callendar. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it. Happy Halloween!

Wow, this is it, the final song I will be posting for the untitled album Stricknice, Bitzone, Wou-Wou & the Wormling and I have been working on! We posted the first song, “Ghosting Out,” from this set on January 4, 2021. I started this set of 12 songs in 2020, during the pandemic, using demo tracks that Wou-Wou graciously allowed me to use. I can’t, yet totally can, believe that it took 5 years to finish and finally post all the songs. I am still not sure if all 12 songs will be included in the album since the total run time is about 43 minutes and I like albums to be a little closer to 30 minutes. We still also need to decide on the track sequence. Eventually the album will be posted the album on Bandcamp for free. 

I have written it many times before and I will write it again, it has been an immense pleasure and honor and blast to work with Sticknice, Bitzone, and Wou-Wou on this set of songs. I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity.

My old SC mate Micah played drums to test a friend’s recording set, and sent me some cuts full of improvised breaks and tempos. I love time changes, yet this was really challenging!

I finally chose two of them and jammed with bass until I learnt his story telling.

Recently I have had the urge to pick up my guitars (Taylor 114ce and Fender Squire) and I have been trying to use more guitar in my songs.  
My go to .vst plug ins are  EZkeys 2, EZ Bass and  EZ drummer 3) and my DAW is Logic Pro 11.
