Bordello A Parigi is delighted to welcome back the triumvirate of Sergio Mesa (IAMNOTAROBOT), David Jornet (Strange2, AMPbEND) and vocalist Maia J. In 2020 the partnership, better known as Hypnotique, released the stunning 12” ‘La Pénombre’. Armed with four tracks of emotive synth-pop, the group returns with ‘Solitude’. Crisp beats and lovelorn lyrics characterise the title piece, a warbling melody weaving and winding its way through tear-streaked words. ‘Ce Monde’ takes a different direction. Keys are upbeat with just a touch of brooding while vocals are distant yet sensual. Maia J’s incredible vocal range comes to the fore on this record, nowhere more than in the deep and layered ‘Le Divan’. Drums scuttle and spike against flowing synthlines as lyrics smoulder with an inchoate intensity. The tone, and language, change for the finale. Arpeggiators rumble and the band shift to English for the elegance and energy of ‘Paralyzed’. Four beautifully crafted synth cuts from an incredibly talented trio.

It is no secret that Montreal had a bubbly disco scene, but there are still some under-the-radar gems. Sophie Stanké is one of them. The charismatic Quebec-Lithuanian actress, radio host and singer hung around with some of the hippest disco people of the 80s, and worked on the sexy boogie song "L'amour d'une diva" with no other than Geraldine Hunt. Scandalous at the time, it became a local disco hit. Famous french singer Daniel Guichard noticed her and signed the song – slightly rearranged – in France on his label Kuklos. Here is the rarest original Canadian arrangement that Stima reissued, in all its glory: long and instrumental versions.

The other side includes the more obscure and even more erotic "J'adore". It was issued in 1987 under her first name, Sophie, with synth-pop and new wave influence. An instrumental was missing, thus Baerlz delivers a new dub cover and now each song has also its “version”, in the purest 80s 12 inches tradition.

After ten years spent in France, where she worked with another star singer Nicolas Peyrac, Sophie is now still active in Québec's cultural life. Stima is proud to have her permission to reissue these 2 fresh 80s tracks to hit the modern dancefloors.

Following December’s amazing Helios EP (Optimo Music), Argentina’s finest, Lux & Hermetics return with the incredible four track Aurora EP, released 18th April on Otherness.

Lux (Lucas Chaumont) and Hermetics (Santiago Nino) have been friends for over a decade and almost inseparable for the last three. The duo share a deep fraternal love for philosophy, psychology, spirituality and the esoteric, which spills over in abundance into their music, offering a different flavor to most other electronic music collaborations. In fact, the pair are on a sonic quest to inject wonder, mystery, and a little sanctitude into your record collection.

Aurora was recorded in Buenos Aires in the midst of (Southern Hemisphere) Summer 2023. As you listen to the EP, feel your speakers bleed the atmosphere and ambience of those hazy South American early evenings on the beach, yellow parasols set against the red skies and the turquoise seas of the South Atlantic. If Helios is an EP for watching the sunset, then Aurora is for watching the stars come out as you and your friends prepare yourselves for an epic night ahead.

Love is the answer, but what was the question?
Love is the most powerful force in the universe and we are all, in one way or another motivated by love. But this particular sentiment that is often portrayed as easy and pure, something that comes natural to us, can feel quite different in reality. What we think is supposed to be effortless, often has more complexity to it than we had hoped for: you could sum it up as "The Love Dilemma" – which is also the title of the second album by Benjamin Fröhlich.

Five years after his acclaimed debut album "Amiata", the producer, DJ and co-founder of Permanent Vacation returns with the concept album "The Love Dilemma", which explores the multi-layered matter of love. To be more precise, it is about any sort of relationship between humans, where love is involved. The album follows the structure of how a relationship can unfold: It starts off a bit misty and hazy and crawls up to some h(o)rmony and big endorphin highs. Over time the feeling intensifies with heat and sparks, before an inevitable friction and phase of questioning. Here, the tone switches and a clear cut marks a turning point. If the relationship continues, a new direction is taking over and stirs the boat into calmer, but not less intense waters, where it finally sails to unknown shores.

As the soundtrack for these different stages of a relationship, Benjamin chooses a mixture of 90's inspired Balearic, House, Ambient and Garage. You can find a lot of prominent basslines, pianos, vocal chops and percussions.
