Taking their detailed production sound to an increasing variety of sounds, 16 Bit Lolitas have marked themselves out as serious talents in the worlds of tech-house and techno through their Bits & Pieces label.
Now on the label’s 15th outing, the Dutch duo lead with the hypnotic, funk-soldered techno jam ‘The Grynd’. 
Built on a deep, intense bassline, ‘The Grynd’ adds layer upon layer of groove before mutated funk guitars fire up the breakdown to devastating effect. A twisted dancefloor beast, ‘The Grynd’ should appeal to DJs across the house, tech-house and techno boundaries, such is the power of its hypnotic groove.   

Bringing a more experimental offering to the table, ‘Adventures’ is a unique and epic track that explores as many hidden avenues as its name suggests. A quirky tech-house groove kicks things off, before an array of shimmering, psychedelic sonics, hypnotic, processed vox and - eventually - stabbing deep trance riffs add colour and urgency to the track.

Esta semana nos atrevemos con un concepto que evoca distintas sensaciones a cada uno de nosotros cuando es nombrado: el futuro. Las visiones acerca del futuro siempre han sido una importante fuente de inspiración para muchos artistas. Escuchamos temas que se relacionan de una manera u otra con el concepto de futuro y repasamos canciones de otras décadas que jugaban a predecir un futuro que ahora es nuestro presente; temas que se adelantaron a su tiempo. También escucharemos música más actual, la de aquellos artistas que se sitúan en la vanguardia y afrontan riesgos para marcar el paso a seguir. En este Laberinto intentamos intuir cómo puede ser esa música que nos espera en un futuro aún lejano.

Dutch duo Esteble aka Joep Esseling & Bram Harmsen made their first Anjunadeep appearance with ‘Passage’, the opening track to last Autumn’s iTunes Dance #1 compilation ‘Anjunadeep 07’. ‘Passage’ now sees a release on the pair’s full label debut, the diverse ‘Feathers EP’ featuring four tracks showcasing their intricate composition and deft melodic touch.

The EP opens with ‘Feathers’ a brooding electronic gem, weaving delicate melodies with clever instrumentalism, above a warm textured bassline. ‘Passage’ is a fine example of the duo’s raw organic sound, a skilled soundscape layering soft melodies with natural elements.

Next up ‘The Walk’, an upbeat cinematic groover with as much dynamism as the title would suggest. Closing off the EP ‘Soaring’ is a more dance floor minded production with a stripped back feel combining slick percussive elements with interspersed arpeggios.

As well as becoming firm favourites with the Anjuna fanbase, the Italian duo's distinctive brand of uplifting and emotive house has won them support from industry tastemakers such as BBC Radio 1’s Annie Mac. Returning with their most extensive release to date, Schwartz & Fanizza deliver 4 classy productions in the form of the ‘Rea EP’.

Opening the package the first of two collaborations with vocalist Susie Ledge, ‘Secret Place’ fuses surging low-end with cascading melodies and wistful lyrics. Next up in rolling balearic style is ‘Voices’ featuring trademark Schwartz & Fanizza chords. ‘I Can’t Be Found’ also features Susie Ledge’s delicate vocals, above an evocative xylophone riff and atmospheric bass grooves. Rounding off the Ep, title track ‘Rea’ is a prime example of their warm sound, packed with harmonic depth and soulful flair, blending chopped vocal samples and shuffling percussion.
