Conrad Van Orton aka Andrea Zanchetta el cual ya tuvimos el gran placer de tener en nuestras noches de SYNTH.
Desde que era un niño, CVO siempre estuvo interesado en el djing, centrándose en el scratch, y por ello sigue tanto la evolución de la música electro como del rap italiano de finales de los 90.
El 2001 fue decisivo el encuentro con Saverio Evangelista (Esplendor Geométrico), amigo de infancia de su tío, que involucra a Conrad en un proyecto para una actuación en el "Borderline Festival" (Roma). Gracias a esta experiencia descubrió el lado experimental y abstracto de la música electrónica.
A principios de 2010, comienza un período de inactividad social forzada que de repente trae tiempo e inspiración para centrarse en la producción musical y en el sello CRS Recordings, el proyecto fundado y curado junto con Francesco Visconti alias VSK.
El enfado, la voluntad de evadir, la creciente sensación de pesadez que despierta sólo la posibilidad de hacer música cada vez que quiera, se convertirán en el hilo conductor de su vida y en el "tema principal" de su sonido. La ausencia de las discotecas en vivo le permitió iniciar un camino de introspección y auto orientación respecto a la música.
Durante los últimos años su trabajo de estudio encontró espacio en muchos sellos importantes como Dynamic Reflection, PoleGroup, Sonntag Morgen, Attic Music y firmó un EP de seis pistas con VSK en Developer's Modularz.

Conrad Van Orton born in Rome in 1985. His real name is Andrea Zanchetta, and his aka is a Fincher's "The Game" tribute, and a tribute is also the one that gives the name to the label he owned with his old friend VSK aka Francesco Visconti: the Consumer Recreation Services Recordings. Since he was just a boy, CVO always been interested in djing, focusing on scratch, and for this reason he follows both the electro music and the Italian rap evolution in the later 90's.
In 2000, when he was fifteen he totally focused on clubbing music, which he anyway followed since Daft Punk's "Homework" album and the purchase of the first Technics' turntables.
In this choice was decisive the meeting with Saverio Evangelista (Esplendor Geometrico) who is a childhood friend of his uncle and involves Conrad in a project for a performance on the "Borderline Festival" (Rome)
in 2001.
Thanks to this experience he discovered the experimental and abstract side of electronic music.
After some arrangement's years between several kind of electronic club-oriented music as House, Electro House, and Techno he identified in Techno and Minimal Techno his real music personality, also thanks to the rising friendship with VSK. In 2006 they started to work together in a studio.
At the beginning of 2010, a period of forced social inactivity starts and suddenly brought time and inspiration to focus on music production and the label CRS Recordings, the project founded and curated together with Francesco Visconti aka VSK.
The anger, the will to evade, the growing sense of heaviness raised just by the chance to make music every time he wants, will become his life thread and "main topic" of his sound. The absence from live clubbing allowed him to start an introspection and self oriented path regarding the music.
During the last years his studio work found space on many important labels such as Dynamic Reflection, PoleGroup, Sonntag Morgen, Attic Music and he signed a six tracker EP with VSK on Developer's Modularz.
He spent most of his time in 2017 studying and experimenting the discipline of live act and he's now ready to show his performance through 2018.

For the first time in our 25-year history, we are releasing a live solo recording by Craig Richards from the club. 

“This mix was recorded on the second of December at a Continuum party. I commenced just after five and finished at nine. The heady combination of nostalgia coupled with the past, the future and more importantly my daughter dancing next to me, resulted in a mix that I felt happy with. Historically, I have been very self-critical and have chosen not to release many mixes. Across nearly four hours this one seems to encapsulate the twenty five years of playing at fabric. In 1998 I was invited by Keith Reilly to play weekly at what was an imaginary nightclub. I had no idea that experience would continue for so many years. Playing vinyl on that sound system and mixer is highly exciting and a joy in itself. I am delighted that this has been my method of sonic communication and remain deeply grateful for my ongoing residency.” - Craig Richards


Craig will be joining us at the club on 30th March to celebrate his 25-year residency with a 25-hour Continuum party.

For the 162nd edition of the SYNOID Podcast, @aframusic presents a carefully curated all-vinyl set that embodies her love for storytelling through music. "I am passionate about creating a diverse and dynamic set—I don’t like to stick to just one style of music. For me, it’s all about storytelling through the music I select and play. Each set has a clear beginning, a journey to work toward, and a meaningful end." Her raw, gritty approach to mixing vinyl adds character and authenticity to the experience.

Preparing for this set, Afra focused on the context and energy of the moment. "Playing exclusively with vinyl means I need to plan carefully what I want to bring and play. For me, preparation is all about understanding the context—the venue, the size of the room, the DJs playing before or after me, and even the mood I’m in. I try to keep all of these elements in mind as I put together a set." This time, she’s bringing a mix of newer releases and timeless classics that capture the essence of raw, gritty techno. "My track selection is intended to create a shared journey, where the music becomes a catalyst for connection, freedom, and a deeper immersion into the energy of the dancefloor."

Bio
Born and bred in southern Italy, Helrad has been a DJ for several years in his hometown where he was heavily influenced by the techno scene.
He thrives on 3 decks playing dance-floor orientated techno with a variety of raw, emotional, funk, and groove elements. Helrad has always been fascinated by the UK electronic music scene with artists such as, Slam, Perc, Rebekah, Ben Sims, Silicon Soul and JoeFarr to name a few. Since 2018 he started his own label, Helrad Limited which is focused on hard stomping techno bangers.
His tracks have been released on User Experience (Joefarr label ), Gradient  (Jamaica Suk label), Stroberload (Jaded London label) and on Drec. His music been Remixed by industry heavyweights such as Steve Stoll, Stanislav Tolkachev, Joefarr and Hans Bouffmyhre.

Joton is synonymous with dark, futuristic, and sensitive techno, seamlessly mixed with the precision of a surgeon. His sound is industrial, analog, and mechanical—a pure distillation of techno's essence. Joton’s style is physical, modular, and intensely direct, creating an exciting and timeless auditory experience.

With over two decades dedicated to the underground electronic scene, Joton has built a career that is both inspiring and influential. Based in León, Spain, he has meticulously crafted a distinctive style of techno, blending modern innovation with classic sensibilities.

As the founder of Newrhythmic Records, Joton has championed the work of countless national and international artists for over 20 years. His passion and vision have helped establish the label as a prominent force in the techno world. Joton’s global reach as a DJ has taken him to over 30 countries, where he has performed on some of the world’s most iconic stages.

A prolific artist, Joton's work has been showcased on renowned labels including Illegal Alien, Fabric, Modularz, Symbolism, Planet Rhythm, Raw Raw, Dynamic Reflection, Quartz, Odd Even, and Skryptöm. His tracks have garnered support from legendary figures such as Ben Klock, DVS1, Rødhåd, Dave Clarke, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Truncate, and Go Hiyama.

In 2015, Joton released his debut album, Casting Out Nines, to critical acclaim, presenting it across ten countries on three continents. Two years later, he embraced his analog roots with the album R3silient. 2018 saw the release of Antioquia on Odd Even and Extreme Measures on RAW RAW, further solidifying his reputation as a leading figure in techno. His most recent album, Hikikomori (2021), was born out of his interactive production courses, reflecting themes of isolation during the pandemic.

In addition to his production and performance work, Joton is a respected educator. Since 2010, he has shared his knowledge through collaborations with leading brands like Arturia, Parallel Festival, Microfusa, Intec and The Bass Valley, as well as international institutions such as Beatworx Academy in India.

Joton’s performances have left an indelible mark on some of the world’s most celebrated venues, including  Tresorin Berlin, REX in Paris, Basement in New York, Corsica Studios in London, Grelle Forelle in Vienna, Propagandain Moscow, Dommune in Tokyo, Vault Sessions in Amsterdam, Tunnel in Pereira, Razzmatazz in Barcelona, Garein Porto, Infra in Boston, Under Club in Buenos Aires, Drugstore in Belgrade, Fabrik in Madrid, Technosnobs in Phoenix, among others.
