Over the last ten years, Gumm graduated from being an active promoter hosting renegade parties in obscure public spaces to performing at Melbourne's biggest festivals, including Let Them Eat Cake, Pitch Music & Arts and smalltown. As co-founder of Melbourne brand Darklove, he hosted international acts The Drifter and Damon Jee to go with regular bookings supporting Maceo Plex, DJ Koze, Jennifer Cardini, Stephan Bodzin, Job Jobse, Ben Klock, ANNA, Folamour, Mind Against and more.

Not only is he regular in Melbourne clubs (Revolver Upstairs, Bourke Street Courtyard and Glamorama to name a few), but recent performances at Melbourne's leading festivals earmarked him as an act for the bigger stage. At the end of 2020, he tasted his first interstate booking when he was flown to Byron Bay to headline a 2021 NYE event.

His recent debut single "Struck", released on Berlin-based Ombra International, the in-vogue label run by indie-dance maestro Curses, served as a crucial entry point into the global scene. The single is a highly infectious dance cut designed to suck you into its dark disco inferno, catching the attention of the underground scene's leading players. With his recent sold-out headline show selling over 500 tickets, Gumm is well situated to be at the Melbourne forefront of a new, compelling global sound with roots in genres like nu-wave, indie-dance and nu-disco. 

About The edit : " Sassafras (aka. Josh my housemate) and I were returning from buying groceries and he asked what I thought about editing Kim Wilde - You Keep Me Hangin' On. We had spoken about writing some music together so it was a perfect chance to have a play. Sass' love for the original was contagious and I soon became attached myself. The process was incredibly enjoyable and the result is now one of my favourite projects."

Johnny John Poincarré naît à Sarajevo pendant les périodes de troubles. Ses parents, tous deux morts dans le bombardement de leur immeuble alors que le petit John était à la crèche, lui laissent comme seuls souvenirs les disques de funk qu’ils collectionnaient en tant qu’anciens hippies reconvertis dans le scoutisme. John grandit en Hongrie où il part se réfugier pour fuir les conflits. Son éducation, bien que précaire se fait alors avec la musique, qu’il découvre avant de partager avec son entourage. Très vite il s’avère avoir l’âme d’un DJ sans même s’en rendre compte : grâce à lui les gens dansent, bougent, oublient leur vie de réfugiés l’espace d’une soirée.
À 16 ans, John organise des soirées clandestines dans les caves de Budapest, anciennes caches d’armes durant la guerre. Il se crée alors un public et un fan club autour de lui, le suivant partout où il décide de jouer la musique qu’il aime. Fédérateur d’un mouvement en plein essor qui le dépasse alors totalement, John se retrouve vite submergé et décide de quitter le milieu underground pour réussir sa vie. Le succès culturel et touristique rencontré par la ville de Budapest quelques années plus tard l’aide grandement, partout dans la capitale Hongroise les clubs se montent, John n’a donc alors plus aucun mal à se faire embaucher et connaître comme DJ. Animant les soirées d’un club, puis d’un autre, il réussit à se faire un nom jusqu’à pouvoir jouer dans les endroits les plus prestigieux de la ville, où il fait connaissance avec la scène electro french touch.
Aujourd’hui, John P. expatrié en France, à Nantes, s’est lancé dans la composition musicale sur ordinateur, il tente en faisant différents remixes de se faire un nom et de partager sa musique influencée par ses racines musicales.
