🗯🗯 Mit welchen Clubs und Kollektiven fühlt ihr euch verbunden? 🗯🗯

Allen voran sind wir ein Teil der Wuza-Crew, was damit auch die stärkste Verbindung für uns ist. Die unermüdliche Ausdauer von Robert, dem Head of Wuza, auch in dieser Zeit Streams und inzwischen kleine Open-Air Veranstaltungen zu organisieren hat uns zumindest in Teilen die Musik und damit auch Hoffnung wieder gegeben.

In den letzten Jahren hat die Rummels Bucht einen hohen Stellenwert in unseren Leben bekommen und eine wesentliche Rolle in unserer musikalischen und persönlichen Entwicklung gespielt. Die Buchtcrew musste in den vergangenen Jahren viele Schlachten austragen und hat es mit beachtlicher Ausdauer mit mächtigen Gegner*innen aufgenommen. Schon lange war das Maß voll und nun müssen sie sich auf ihren letzten Metern in der gewohnten Location auch noch mit Corona auseinandersetzen. 

Insgesamt solidarisieren wir uns mit allen Clubs und Kollektiven, die künstlerisch wichtige und politisch gute Arbeit machen. All die, die in diesen Tagen um ihre Existenz kämpfen und nicht aufhören, vielfältige Wege zu gehen, um Lösungen für die prekäre Situation zu finden und so eine Perspektive ermöglichen.

🗯🗯 Wie ist die Situation bei euch? 🗯🗯

Wie bei allen, haben sich auch unsere Pläne für dieses Jahr grundlegend geändert. Insgesamt versuchen wir das Beste daraus zu machen, verbringen Zeit im Studio, treffen lange vermisste Menschen und sind viel in der Natur. Aber natürlich ist nicht jeder Tag gleich. Nicht an jedem Tag ist es möglich, optimistisch und zuversichtlich zu sein und unterm Strich ist einer unserer wichtigsten Lebensbereiche gerade nicht mehr da. Wir vermissen Musik auf lauten Anlagen, die Stimmung im Club und ganz besonders, vermissen wir euch.

JUEL is a DJ with German and Sicilian roots, whose music has its roots in funk/soul/worldmusic. Her artist name is made up of the initials of her best friend JUdith and her own name ELena.
Only four years old Elena has lessons in classical music, playing the flute until 18. Music lessons at school and everyday love to music in her parents’ house soon get het her close to what she calls the essence of music.
Funk and Soul (from the 60s to the 80s) are the decisive influences in her childhood and youth. In these styles she had her first performances in public. She has nourished her inspiration for electronic music from those genres as well as from classical music. Till now Elena is deejaying both genre: funk/soul/world  and techhouse/house/deep house/downtempo. She loves mixing funk elements and driving basses with the beats of electronic music. She wants to prove that through her artist name: She is always looking for musical gems, “the jewels”, which she integrates into her sets.
Since 2014 she has been booked regularly by clubs and for special events. Moreover, she appears regularly and pro bono at special charity institutions (Café Mondial, Save Me, Des Souris pour le Togo,CSD).
She loves it, if she can make people dance and get wild, losing themselves and be carried away for a while.
Apart from solo appearances as a DJ it is JUEL’s great ambition to fuse electronic music with the analogue sounds of sax, e-guitar and percussion. She features various solo artists and brings them on stage as a band. Thereby she puts emphasis on a balanced mix of free improvisation and composed arrangements to create the dynamic and driving sound which is characteristic of the band's live performance.
